Pawel Olkowski takes a whack on the nose from Tammy Abraham and has to go off for some blood treatment and a new shirt.

Abraham went on a mazy run after winning the ball in the challenge and put through Jonathan Kodjia - but the forward cannot get a shot away and Bolton clear.

Jason Lowe blocks two Villa efforts on the edge of the Bolton box as the home side carry on going for a third goal.

Villa claim for a handball on the edge of the box which the referee waves away.

Phil Parkinson must be watching this through his hands at the moment.

Villa piling on the pressure now as they try and put this game totally out of sight.

Bolton are defending well - the final ball from Villa has not been quite there.

    James Chester

Jack Grealish floats a free kick in from the corner of the 18-yard box and James Chester is there at the back post to out-muscle his marker and head in.

There could be a touch of offside - Chester looked like he might just have been in front of his marker, but it's academic now.

Jack Hobbs is back on and Mark Beevers can put his tracksuit bottoms back on for now.

He's still moving a bit gingerly, he might have got winded.

This might be a big moment. Jack Hobbs, who has done well at the back for Bolton, took a knock during that corner and seems to be coming off.

Mark Beevers is getting ready to come on.

Great tackle by James Chester as Bolton try and release Clayton Donaldson as the Villa centre-back slides in and puts it out for a corner.

Tammy Abraham does his best John Terry impression coming back and heading away the corner to keep Villa ahead.

Dean Smith is right to look chipper - Bolton have not won in the last 38 league games when they have conceded the first goal.

You feel that his side will have to get a second to make this game safe though - Wanderers are looking threatening.

Great save by Nyland. The Villa keeper saves well with his legs from Will Buckley as Bolton go straight up the other end and threaten.

Wanderers cannot convert the corner and Villa stay in front.

Seconds in and it should be 2-0.

Jack Hobbs gives the ball away to Jonathan Kodjia, but his ball into Tammy Abraham is way too heavy and he cannot convert when clean through.

Boos at half-time at Villa Park. But, this time they’re only for the referee Oliver Langford.

So far, he’s only yellow carded one Bolton player. And the feeling of the locals is clearly that there might have been more!

It adds to the frustration for the home fans that what they sensed might be a cakewalk when Jack Grealish scored so early has actually proved harder work than expected.

Bolton, for all their recent woes, have shown enough threat on the break to hint that they are still well in this game.

Darren S: Nyland's had some shockers this season. Good shot-stopper, but really struggles with basics, aerially very poor as well. No real command of his area. Not good enough for me, nowhere near the standard Johnstone was at last season.

Are Villa too strong to be sucked into a relegation tussle? Is this one season too far in the Championship for Bolton after their Harry Houdini escape act last year?

This man has liked what he's seen so far....

All going to plan for Villa at the moment, but there's been action in both boxes so could be more goals to come.

We'll be back under way in the next 10 minutes.

A great start from Aston Villa with Jack Grealish getting an early goal.

They could have gone further ahead with Bolton in disarray early on.

But fair play to Phil Parkinson's visitors, they regrouped and looked more and more dangerous as the half went on.

Close for Villa. John McGinn heads into the side netting after Jonathan Kodjia plays the ball back across the face of goal after a deep pass to the far post.

Meanwhile Pawel Olkowski is the first man in the book after the Bolton defender goes in hard on Jack Grealish.
