And then in this evening's game Leeds missed the chance to go back to the top of the table as they were well beaten by a rampant West Brom.

Albion scored four second-half goals from Hal Robson-Kanu, Matt Phillips, Harvey Barnes and Dwight Gayle to seal the points, before Pablo Hernandez's injury time consolation.

West Brom striker Hal Robson-Kanu told Sky Sports:

"We wanted to start fast and really threaten Leeds in behind, and that's what we did early on.

"Every game in this league is tough and you have to be at it.

"For the last couple of weeks we haven't been at the level we started the season, but with that performance hopefully we can kick on again."

West Brom winger Matt Phillips told Sky Sports:

"In the last couple of weeks we've probably dipped below our early-season standards but we've had a good week, worked hard and we've put on a really good performance tonight.

"We want promotion so we need to keep turning out performances like that and put another little run together."

A hugely impressive result and performance from West Bromwich Albion.

They looked good in the first half but were electric after the break with goals from Hal Robson-Kanu, Matt Phillips, Harvey Barnes and Dwight Gayle.

Albion are back up to fifth, while Leeds go into the international break in third place.

There will be three minutes of added time - or party time for the West Brom fans.

In a day littered with high-scoring games, there were also five goals in the West London derby at Loftus Road.

QPR manager Steve McClaren hailed his side's fighting spirit after they came from behind to beat Brentford 3-2.

"I thought it was a terrific game of football and Brentford contributed to that. There were two very good teams," he said.

"We showed character at 1-0 down to go 3-1 up - we blew them away for 10 minutes. They came back and we had to hold on, which we did.

"We were hopeless in the final third in the first half but they got it right in the second.

"The spirit in the dressing room - the responsibility that they're taking has really been first class.

"We knew we'd be OK, that we would stick together and compete, and that's what we did."

With the game won, West Brom boss Darren Moore takes off Kieran Gibbs, back in the side today after injury.

Tyrone Mears trots on for the final couple of minutes.

Leeds have been excellent this season, but this is a big statement from West Brom.

It's been a performance full of quality and they've looked defensively stronger too.

After one point out of a possible 12, this is the perfect way for the Baggies to 'boing' back into form.

They almost halve the deficit straight away as Leeds work the ball across the West Brom box and Pablo Hernandez slides in Ezgjan Alioski, but the forward can only shoot into the side netting.

As Sam Johnstone prepares to take the goal kick, off goes the night's first goalscorer Hal Robson-Kanu and on comes Dwight Gayle.

Hardly respite for the Leeds defence.

Leeds make their final change as Samuel Saiz comes on in place of Mateusz Klich.

United have just over 10 minutes to turn this around.

There was another thriller at St Andrew's as Hull came from 2-0 down to lead 3-2, only for Birmingham striker Che Adams to equalise late on and complete his hat-trick.

Hull manager Nigel Adkins told BBC Radio Humberside:

"We had good opportunities in the first half so to come in at half-time 2-0 down was very frustrating.

"In the second half we needed to get the ball forward quicker and increase the tempo because the first was stop start.

"We were in a position to win it and low and behold a mis-kick on a clearance drops to their player to score.

"Well done to the players, we've not been beaten today, they were committed to each other to graft and work their socks off.

"We had an opportunity to win it but an unfortunate clearance - that's what happens when you're at the bottom of the league."

Marcelo Bielsa rolls his dice and brings on Jack Harrison for Barry Douglas.

The former Wolves full-back isn't happy - and not just because of the chants aimed at him by the West Brom faithful!
