And that is where we will end today's live text commentary.

I'm afraid it wasn't to be for seventh-tier Hitchin Town and their canine mascot Elvis.

We will of course be back on Monday from 19:00 GMT with the second-round draw and live text commentary of Hampton & Richmond against Oldham.

Hope you can join us then. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

We started the weekend with 80 teams - 52 have made it into the second-round draw.

We will of course lose another 12 once the first-round replays take place in just over a week.

But this is not where the action in round one ends...

    Port Vale 1-2 Sunderland

This game is drawing to a close now but it wouldn't surprise me if there's at least another goal in this one, as both sides look up for it.

Leon Legge is the latest Port Vale man to try his luck on goal to no avail as his effort goes well wide of the mark.

A big final three minutes remain.

    Port Vale 1-2 Sunderland

Tom Pope finds a way through the Sunderland back line and somehow can't quite put the ball in the net as there's a scramble to dispossess him.

    End to end stuff, now!

    Excellent save from Scott Brown.

It was good technique from Honeyman to get a clean strike on that.

    Port Vale 1-2 Sunderland

Aiden McGeady goes on a long, unopposed run down the left wing and delivers an excellent cross into the box which finds its way to George Honeyman who fires straight at Port Vale goalkeeper Scott Brown.

How they're not 3-1 up at least, I do not know.

    Port Vale 1-2 Sunderland

Reece James puts in a lovely ball into the box towards the head of Josh Maja but there's too much on it and it sails behind him, however Port Vale concede a corner as they attempt to get rid of it.

Fortuantely for the hosts, they clear the corner with ease and another Sunderland attack looks to be done with.
