    Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino: "After five minutes we suffered a massive blow with Dembele. We put on another offensive player with Son. From the beginning we had to change the plan.

"I think we controlled the first half nonetheless. Our start was difficult because they had chances, but it’s normal when you have lots of offensive players on the pitch.

"At 3-0 I think we conceded a very cheap action for the opponent. We created our own problems, but playing here is a tough place to come so I am happy."

On Dembele’s injury: "We need to assess him. We need to hope that it’s not a massive issue, but we need to assess him."

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo: "It was a great game. A lot of enthusiasm, intensity. It had everything.

"It was a disappointing result, but a fantastic reaction in the second half. Tottenham counter-attacked twice and that defined the game.

"We had the character to go back in the game when everybody thought the game was lost. The boys gave everything, took risks. We had chances. Maybe we would have deserved a draw."

On the disallowed goal: "It could have made a big difference. It’s hard not to feel a little bit unfairly done by."

  7. 'You can't switch off against top teams'published at 21:55 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2018

    Wolves

Wolves skipper Conor Coady: "We've conceded three sloppy goals - it is not good enough from our point of view, no matter who it is against.

"We need to look at this week and work on it defensively. They're a top team, so we can't switch off at any moment."

On the disallowed goal at 2-0 just before half-time: "We got told at half-time it was a couple of yards on. When things like that go against you against a top team it is difficult.

"But we always see a way back because we are a team full of character, we always fight for the club. But the third goal didn't help us.

"We showed fight but it wasn't enough. There are positives we can take, when we lose we learn."

Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris: "I think we made things difficult for ourselves.

"We were 3-0 up and we lost control of the game. Wolverhampton are a good team and they showed it until the end. We had to stay focused.

"I’m happy with the win but unfortunately we weren’t able to get the clean sheet. The season is long though and we need to keep going."

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo seems in remarkably good spirits to say his side has just lost for the third successive match.

"It was a fantastic game," he says.

But his mood changes a touch when asked about the disallowed goal at 2-0 in the first half. "It was unfair."

Spurs goalscorer Erik Lamela: "It was hard because we couldn't get the goal and they kept running until the end.

"The team did well until 3-0 then conceded two goals and that's why we needed to work hard.

On his own form: "I'm happy because I'm playing and enjoying to play football."

Was that the 'flaky' Spurs that Gary Neville was talking about? Or did they prove him wrong by showing their resilience in the end?

Either way, they held on to the three points and move back above Arsenal into fourth.
