A wasted chance there for Motherwell. Curtis Main receives a square pass inside the box but he takes too many touches and St Mirren crowd him out.

    Dundee 0-0 Celtic

Genseric Kusunga, filling in at left-back tonight, makes a thoroughly silly and unnecessary late challenge on James Forrest that leaves the Celtic winger rolling around on the turf.

Kusunga is pretty lucky not be yellow carded.

  4. goal

GOAL Aberdeen 1-0 Hamiltonpublished at 19:55 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2018

    Graeme Shinnie

The warnings have been there for Accies and they fail to close down Graeme Shinnie at the edge of the visiting penalty box following a corner.

The Scotland midfielder drives the ball into the far corner to complete a fine move off the training ground.

It's a corner. The Ibrox side's delivery let them down badly at Hampden on Sunday. This one troubles Kilmarnock and Andy Halliday has an effort blocked.

  6. CLOSE!published at 19:54 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2018

    Aberdeen 0-0 Hamilton Academical

So close to the opener at Pittodrie - and it would have been an own goal.

Shay Logan's cross into the Hamilton box reaches Scott McMann and the defender back-heels just past the post.

    Rangers v Kilmarnock (19:45)

Steven Gerrard has won 12 of his 23 matches as Rangers manager

It’s already been noted that Steven Gerrard’s record over the opening nine Premiership games of the season is identical to Pedro Caixinha, who left around this time last year - nine played, five won, two drawn and two lost.

But context is important. Caixinha had been in charge for 11 games the previous season and lost three and drew two of them.

And Europe has been the big game changer for Rangers this season. They are unbeaten in 11 European matches under Gerrard – a club record – whereas Caixinha's team was knocked out of the Europa League qualifiers in the first round following an embarrassing 2-1 aggregate defeat by Progres Niederkorn.

Victory tonight for the Ibrox side would not only ease the pain of Sunday’s semi-final loss to Aberdeen but make it five in a row at home in the league.

  19. McInnes turns attention to pointspublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2018

    Aberdeen v Hamilton Academical (19:45)

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes is pleased to have only been forced into one change, with Max Lowe replacing injured defender Andrew Considine.

"I've been struggling to put the same team out again week after week and I've got the opportunity other than Max, who was unlucky not to start in the semi-final," he tells BBC Scotland.

"Everybody's now got an opportunity to cement himself in the team.

"Tonight, we are going to have a lot more possession, but I want to give the attacking players who did so well for us defensively on Sunday to show their capabilities a bit more in the other half.

"Although we don't concern ourselves too much with the league table at this time of the season, it doesn't make good reading and we want to get ourselves up the table as soon as possible."

  20. Dons look to kick on from cup winpublished at 19:41 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2018

    Aberdeen v Hamilton Academical (19:45)

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland

The Dons are on a high after beating Rangers in the League Cup semi finals and Accies are in decent spirits after drawing at Kilmarnock last time out.

The hosts know the value of getting the three points, in terms of reigniting what has been a faltering league campaign so far.

The Lanarkshire side are chasing their first win at Pittodrie in eight years, but they’re doing it without captain Darian MacKinnon who is serving the first game of a two-match ban, after being cited by the Scottish FA compliance officer, following his heavy challenge on Killie’s Alan Power at the weekend. Scott Boyd is also banned for this one.
