Tonight they obviously go into the game as underdogs, as they're 5-0 down. But for the girls tonight it's about restoring a bit of pride and coming out and enjoying themselves for the last game of the season in front of a great crowd.

  2. 'If we score six in the first half...'published at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2018

    Glasgow City v Barcelona (19:30)

Glasgow City coach Scott Booth: "We didn't get the result we wanted (in the first leg). That happens in football, especially when you're playing Barcelona.

"It's only right given the season the players have had that they go and enjoy this match and embrace the fact that they're playing at home, against Barcelona, in the Champions League last 16.

"The last 16 is an incredible achievement, especially when you’ve had to go through the group stages and then the last 32. We feel we've really been part of this competition and to draw Barcelona out of the hat, it's a fantastic experience for everyone involved. Now it is a case of going into the game and just making sure we are better than we were in the last time.

"If we score six in the first half then it gives us a good second half to look forward to - we want to enjoy it, have more of the ball, threaten them and I'm sure the players are going to go and do that."

  3. Barcelona make four changespublished at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2018

    Glasgow City v Barcelona (19:30)

Two of Barcelona's goal-scorers from the first leg, Aitana Bonmati and Kheira Hamraoui, don't make the visitors' squad for the second leg.

Marta Torrejon and Leila Ouahabi also drop out from the 5-0 first leg win.

England forward Toni Duggan does start for the visitors, and England coach Phil Neville is in attendance to check on her form.

But sadly, from a neutral perspective at least, Ballon D'Or nominee Lieke Martens is still injured.

  4. City play three up frontpublished at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2018

    Glasgow City v Barcelona (19:30)

This may in reality be more of a damage limitation exercise for City, but boss Scott Booth has stuck with an attacking line-up for this second leg.

Forwards Abbi Grant, Kirsty Howat and Lara Ivanusa all start for the Scottish champions, who have just sealed a 12th consecutive SWPL title.

  6. Promise you a miracle...published at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2018

    Glasgow City v Barcelona (19:30)

Evening all. OK, let's get this out there right from the get-go. Chances are Glasgow City won't be in the Women's Champions League quarter-final draw with holders Lyon, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and the other leading lights in the women's game.

Five-nil down from the away leg in Barcelona is not the most promising of positions to start tonight's second leg at Petershill Park.

But as another great Glaswegian institution, Simple Minds, once sang, "Belief is a beauty thing..."
