More from Southampton boss Mark Hughes: "We deserved three points today. To have that comprised because of an official isn’t right. I sound like a broken record, I have been doing this a long time and a lot of reasons to say this.

"It is a huge moment in the game. At 2-0 the game is over. If you look at the reaction from the Watford players there no appeal for offside. They knew, just the officials didn’t.

On Watford's penalty claim: "It looked a penalty, and they got that wrong as well. Maybe that backs up my argument."

Southampton

Southampton manager Mark Hughes speaking to BBC Sport: "It is not good enough, the performance of the referee. All we want in a game is the key match-defining moments to be correct. It is a skill, a talent and a referee has to have that or they won’t be at this level. The ref today is a little inexperienced.

"At 2-0 the game is over. It is unfortunate and a bad mistake. He admitted it on the pitch. I mean for goodness sake, he needed a bit of help. These decisions affect what we are trying to do here.

"People will say they should have had a penalty, it doesn’t matter. Our keeper could’ve saved it. Our goal went in and was ruled out. At 2-0 we could manage the game out, the momentum when the goal was chalked off went to them."

Leicester City

More from Ben Chilwell: "It was very emotional at the end, the fans have been amazing. They’ve been very supportive, we are one big family and that showed again today. One good thing is that it has brought us very close together, the fans, the players and the staff. We are more of a family and that can only be a good thing going forward.

“It’s a very proud dressing room, it was an emotional occasion, the fans have been massive for us."

Leicester City

Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell: "It’s been very emotional for everyone this week leading into the game, but we tried to get three points for the boss.

"He always wanted that and that’s what we wanted to give back to him so it was disappointing from that point of view. The performance was good but we just couldn’t get that goal. We could have played for another hour and I don’t think we would have scored. Burnley defended well.

"When it comes to match day you give 100% whether you’ve been training or not. Going to Thailand had a bit of an impact but there were no excuses. The goal just couldn't come."

Leicester City

Leicester City defender Jonny Evans: " I joined a few months ago and there's a lot of lads and staff who have been here a long time. They have experienced a lot with the chairman and to see the togetherness with the team and the club has been incredible.

"The most important thing is we will never forget what the chairman did for the club and we will do everything we can to make Leicester successful."

Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez: "We knew that they would be difficult because they have had good form and are doing well. We have to give credit to our players, they were very good. They gave everything and the atmosphere was good.

"We have done well in some games but that was one of the best mentalities and the way we competed for the ball.

"[Salomon] Rondon did well, he has to improve his fitness but he was working well and trying to fight the defenders. He shows what he can do and is giving us something different.

"They changed their play in the second half so we had to change ours and they were losing players to a few knocks.

"We did well, they have pace and ability up front but we had to take chances and finish the game."

Watford

More from Watford manager Javi Gracia: "Today Southampton created some chances, after that we tried to score. We competed well, showing in the second half more ambition, which is good news for the team that we can play different ways.

"It is a good point, we competed. Now we have an international break and we will try improve for the next games and continue winning.

On rumours of a new contract: "That is not important in this moment. I have said I am proud to belong to the club, feel well with the players and staff. We will see.

Alex Pritchard is the first Huddersfield player to score at home in the Premier League in 726 minutes of action, since Tom Ince scored against Watford back in April.

Burnley registered their first clean sheet in six Premier League games, after shipping 13 in their last three.

Newcastle striker Salomón Rondón scored his first Premier League goal in 10 appearances since netting versus Liverpool in April.

Watford’s Jose Holebas has been directly involved in more Premier League goals this season than any other defender (2 goals, 4 assists).

Watford

Watford manager Javi Gracia speaking to BBC Sport: "Today I think our idea was to get a win, but in the first half we started losing. In the second we showed character and ambition and were improving. Maybe we could win in the last part of the game but Southampton created good chances. It was fair in the end."

On the referee: "There were different situations that were difficult for the referee. But after 50 minutes, it was a clear penalty. maybe a second yellow for Bertrand maybe the game changes.

"I always support the referee because I know the how difficult the job is."

On Austin's disallowed goal: There were a lot of players there, I didn’t see the positions of the Southampton players, but it was in a moment where the penalty came first, which would have changed the game."

Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss, Eddie Howe on today's defeat:

"Disappointed with the first half and our slow start - when you come here the crowd will be in the game. We had a difficult opening period but we fought to the end and had some chances but it wasn’t to be.

"Adam Smith looks like he’s got a knee injury, it looks quite serious, he’s in quite a bit of pain in the dressing room. It did disrupt the flow of the game, the long delay and obviously the players were concerned so that didn’t help.

"I was pleased with aspects of the second half, we were on the front foot more and we had the ball in some dangerous areas. We will use this time to assess the injuries and come back fresh. You are judged game by game and today was a disappointment."

Leicester City

Leicester City boss Claude Puel, speaking to BBC Sport: "It was difficult with a lot of emotion around the game, during the game and after the game.

"We were unlucky but I was proud of the players' performance because they gave their best in this situation.

"It was important to give our best and there was a lot of emotion. It was a tough week to prepare this game without training sessions and a long journey to Bangkok. The players compensated with desire.

"I would like to congratulate the players because it was difficult. I hope we can continue this response to honour our chairman.

"Of course we are disappointed not to win but I am proud about the performance and mentality. The most important thing is to always give our best. It was a professional attitude. A lot of people at the club have learned about themselves."

Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield boss David Wagner speaking to BBC Sport:

"The Frustration is there after the first half when we were very strong. We hit the post and bar again, we had another big decision against us when Zanka got fouled. This is a penalty from my point of view and again we had no luck in this game.

"In the second half I have to be honest, West Ham had opportunities as well. But in the last five minutes we were the team that wanted to push for the win.

"The good thing is four points in a week. I really can see the positives. We take this result even if I think we deserved more.”

On an injury suffered by Chris Lowe: “He looks to have a shoulder ligament injury. We need to see if he needs surgery, but he will miss a few weeks now for sure.”

West Ham United

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini: "We didn't play well in the first half after their goal. You have to fight for every ball when you come here, they play with a great intensity and aggression. We also kept the ball too much in our own half, this is a team that aggressively presses you.

In second half we improved a little bit more, we created chances and we got the goal.But if you review the 90 minutes, the draw was the result that both teams deserved."

Bournemouth

Bournemouth captain Simon Francis: "I don’t think we deserved to win the game comfortably; we were not at the high standards we have set this season. We gave ourselves a mountain to climb in the first half but we dominated the second half and unfortunately got punished on the counter.

"We have had success here in the past and we know the crowd get behind their players here but we weren’t good enough. We are very disappointed because we could have done better, but we have a few weeks to dwell now and knowing the manager and the players we will come back firing.

"I’ve just seen Adam Smith on crutches, we are all devastated for him but without a scan we aren’t sure how serious it is and our thoughts are with him."

Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche, speaking to BBC Sport:

"To be honest it was difficult for all of us. They gave everything and we had to try and match that, which we did. It was a strange one in that it's very rare for the result to be irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. The game was more about a show of respect.

"The whole build-up to the week was full of respect and feeling from us. It's resonated across football, what has happened."
