The amount of times Cardiff are in the final third hasn't been that much but when they get lads up there, they're quite effective. Cardiff's commitment has made Bournemouth struggle.

Bournemouth keep plugging away here but there is little sign of them breaking through Cardiff's defences at present.

Much of that is down to Bluebirds skipper Sol Bamba, who has led by example this evening.

The big man at the heart of Cardiff's rearguard has produced a big display.

A fierce strike from Junior Hoilett thunders into Nathan Ake. Joe Bennett looks to whip it in, but Bournemouth clear behind and Artur Boruc gathers from the corner.

Adam Smith finds himself in the book, bit of a lunge from the Bournemouth full-back inside the Cardiff box.

Eddie Howe will be furious. Jordon Ibe does well to create space and stings a dangerous ball across goal, but no Bournemouth forwards made the run.

Cardiff break...

Bobby Reid goes darting down the middle and feeds Oumar Niasse to his right, Niasse holds it up until he sees Callum Paterson arriving on the edge of the area but the midfielder's curling shot is fired straight at a Bournemouth defender.

That was weird? Joshua King is pulled up for a foul on Joe Bennett, when it looked like the Cardiff defender was holding on to him.

The Bluebirds launch it forward and win a corner.

Jefferson Lerma comes on for Dan Gosling for Bournemouth, and Neil Warnock sends on Junior Hoilett for Josh Murphy in response.

Nathan Ake scrambles backwards and heads back to Artur Boruc to stop Bobby Reid getting in. Cardiff are being pegged back, but still look like opening Bournemouth up on the break.

There will be tired legs out there because Cardiff have worked so hard but it's important to not drop back too much to allow Bournemouth in. Play the game to your strengths not theirs.

Well, Sol Bamba is living a little dangerously. The Cardiff skipper has already been booked and he brings down Joshua King. King signals to Jon Moss that he's been fouled five times by the Bluebirds defender.
