  1. Rodgers 'trusts' Celtic squadpublished at 12:25 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:30)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers on Sportsound: "A few of the guys have taken knocks and are unavailable today.

"We've had guys on the sidelines waiting patiently. It's changes but I trust the squad. Hopefully, Ryan Christie will be back sooner than what we thought.

"Competition is good for you. The league is definitely competitive this year.

"For two years there, Hibs were great. They hit a little spell of a couple of months where they didn't get the results. Today, another tough game for us and that's what we expect, especially after a tough week."

  2. Hibs need to be 'aggressive' - Lennonpublished at 12:23 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:30)

Hibernian head coach Neil Lennon on Sportsound: "We certainly showed better form second half last week.

"Boyle's out with the concussion, we couldn't take that risk with him. With Slivka and Horgan - from an attacking point of view - we're better balanced.

"We have to be aggressive with our pressing. I'll know after five minutes what sort of the mood they're in. These games should take care of themselves.

"We've got a big week, all three games at home. We need to maximise that home advantage."

  3. Hibs end slump in time for tough runpublished at 12:19 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:30)

When these two last met, Hibs went into the game above Celtic in the table. But that defeat in Glasgow was the start of a seven-game sequence without a win in the league.

Neil Lennon's men slumped from second place to eighth in that spell.

The rot was stopped last weekend with a 1-0 success at Hamilton. It was a scruffy display but Oli Shaw's well-taken winner will have lifted spirits ahead of a testing Christmas schedule.

After today, Hibs meet Rangers twice and play local rivals Livingston and Hearts before the year's end.

  4. Sizzling Salzburg too hot for Celticpublished at 12:16 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:30)

Celtic are on a nine-match unbeaten run in the Premiership and turned in what was probably their best performance of the season last weekend to blow Kilmarnock away.

However, the champions were given a bit of a lesson on Thursday as Salzburg turned in a slick, high-tempo display to leave Glasgow with a 2-1 win in the Europa League.

Despite the sobering loss, it turned out to be a very good night for Brendan Rodgers since they secured progress to the last 32 after RB Leipzig failed to beat Rosenborg.

  5. Will Hibs have a go at the champions?published at 12:13 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Quote Message

Neil Lennon loves having a go but Hibs will need to be defensively sound since Celtic are at the top of their game right now and, if you open up too much, you risk getting a real doing

  6. Close encounterspublished at 12:11 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:30)

Last season, Hibs matched Celtic with the sides enjoying a home win apiece and sharing two 2-2 draws.

When the teams met in Glasgow in October, Celtic ran out 4-2 victors, with Odsonne Edouard on target twice for the champions, who really should have been out of sight after a dominant first half display.

The last time Celtic were at Easter Road, Edouard scored again, but this time it was a late consolation goal in a 2-1 defeat, following efforts from Jamie Maclaren and Vykintas Slivka back in April.

  7. Christmas cancelled down Gorgie waypublished at 12:08 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

On the other side of Edinburgh, Hearts are feeling none too festive after Friday's walloping at Livingston.

The team were due to fly out to Prague on Saturday for a weekend celebration but the players decided to scratch those plans.

Livi fans will need no excuse to watch their five second-half goals again... Check out the highlights below.

  8. Special delivery...published at 12:05 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:30)

John McGinn is a guest at Easter Road today.

The home fans will be saying 'stick him in a wig and fake moustache and get him on', since the midfielder's energy has been sorely missed since his sale to Aston Villa.

Visiting manager Brendan Rodgers might be thinking 'he's one that got away' since Celtic were chasing the 24-year-old all summer.

  9. Brown back to lead Celticpublished at 12:01 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:30)

Celtic make changes after Thursday's 2-1 defeat at home to Salzburg, some enforced.

Midfielder Ryan Christie was carried off on a stretcher in the second half of the Europa League tie and Mikael Lustig had to come off with a head knock.

Kieran Tierney has a hamstring issue and is rested and Tom Rogic is nowhere to be seen. Skipper Scott Brown and Olivier Ntcham come into midfield and Kristoffer Ajer and Emilio Izaguirre are the defensive replacements.

Striker Leigh Griffiths is out with personal issues, while defender Dedryck Boyata is still nursing a hamstring injury.

  10. Horgan & Hyndman earn starts for Hibspublished at 11:58 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Hibernian v Celtic (12:30)

Martin Boyle suffered a nasty head knock in last weekend's win at Hamilton and is rested today.

Charalampos Mavrias is also added to a long injury list that includes Mark Milligan, Marvin Bartley, Paul Hanlon, David Gray and Thomas Agyepong.

That's a lot of experience on the sidelines for the hosts, who make three changes from last weekend.

Daryl Horgan and Emerson Hyndman earn starts after impressing as substitutes against the Accies and Steven Whittaker takes over from Mavrias at right-back.

  12. Celtic aim to reclaim top spotpublished at 11:52 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

Both Celtic and Rangers have the chance to leapfrog table-toppers Kilmarnock this afternoon.

Killie recovered well from their 5-1 demolition at Celtic Park to ease past Dundee yesterday, winning 3-1 at Rugby Park.

Aberdeen's league position looks much healthier after beating St Mirren and Motherwell brought St Johnstone's eight-game unbeaten run to a halt in Perth.

  13. Welcomepublished at 11:50 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

We're serving up a Sunday lunchtime treat from Easter Road as Hibs welcome Celtic. The hosts have been going through a sticky patch but have a habit of giving the champions a run for their money.

Later on, Rangers are at home to Hamilton Accies, with Steven Gerrard's men looking to bounce back from the disappointment of their midweek European exit.
