  2. Postpublished at 16:18 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2019

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Luka Modric has had the bandaged removed from his head and had it replaced by a far more practical plaster as the players head back out onto the pitch.

  3. Postpublished at 16:08 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2019

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Not the most thrilling of contests but Sevilla will be happy with how things have gone so far. They've looked good on the break and well capable of winning this by the odd goal.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 16:03 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2019

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

There goes the half time whistle.

  5. Postpublished at 45+1 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Vinícius Júnior is urged to shoot from 30 yards by the somewhat restless home fans. It's ambitious but well struck with decent power. However, it's straight down Vaclik's throat.

  6. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Less than I thought added on actually, as two minutes pops up on the fourth official's board.

  7. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Lovely cross by Vinícius Júnior almost finds Karim Benzema but Vaclik just manages to get to the ball before the Real Madrid forward.

Into the final minute of normal time, but there's bound to be a fair bit of time tagged on following that earlier clash of heads.

  8. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

If Sevilla score, it feels like it will come about as a result of a Jesus Navas cross. The former Manchester City man is being granted loads of space on the flank and his deliveries have been quite dangerous.

  9. Postpublished at 38 min

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Nasty clash of heads between Vazquez and Luka Modric results in a delay of a couple of minutes. Vazquez ends up having to put a protective cap on while several bandages are wound round Modric's head.

  10. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Luka Modric is caught by four legs as he changes direction quickly in an attempt to avoid two Sevilla players. This is a good position for a free-kick, just outside the right corner of the box. Modric's delivery is cleared but the ball comes back into the box and Karim Benzema manages to get a shot away but it is smothered by Vaclik.

  11. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

There's been chances in this game, although not many that you would call clear cut, Sergio Escudero's drive into the sidenetting has probably been the pick of the bunch so far.

Still, surely we will see goals in this game. There's hasn't been a draw between these two sides since 1993.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 30 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

First booking of the game as Daniel Carrico bundles into Vinicius Júnior as he threatens to break.

  13. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Tomas Vaclik plucks the ball from off the head of Sergio Ramos as Real Madrid bring a spell of Sevilla pressure to an end with an attack of their own.

  14. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Andre Silva glances a header towards goal but Thibaut Courtois is alert and holds near his far post.

Sevilla getting a few opportunities now...

  15. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

    What a chance for Sevilla!

A mistake by Real Madrid and the visitors break at lightning speed. The ball is eventually worked to Sergio Escudero, in loads of space on the edge of the box but he sweeps his shot into the sidenetting.

  16. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Oooh Vinicius Junior should have been a bit more selfish there.

The youngster shows good determination to skip a couple of challenges and he gets a glimpse of goal just outside the box. He thinks about shooting for a second but in the end spreads the ball wide to Karim Benzema, who is quickly closed down.

  17. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Second attack of the game for Sevilla results in their second corner, Jesus Navas' cross deflected behind.

Ever Banega sends the ball towards the near post but Karim Benzema clears.

  18. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

Real Madrid get back on the attack as Luka Modric twists and turns as he tries to find an opening. The seven-man Sevilla defence in the ends frustrates the mercurial midfielder.

  19. Postpublished at 15:29 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2019

    Real Madrid 0-0 Sevilla

It's taken almost 15 minutes to see anything like an attack from Sevilla but their first foray in the Real Madrid half is a decent one.

Jesus Navas latches on to a superb ball from halfway on the right flank and crosses into the middle of the box, Real take no chances, putting the ball behind for a corner and it's the right decision as the set piece comes to nothing.

Sulaimon Adelekan: Sevilla have been better than Real Madrid this season but the only way most will accept that is if they finish higher than Real Madrid on the table.
