  1. Caldwell chasing a striker for Thistlepublished at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2019

    Scott Mullen
    BBC Scotland

Partick Thistle fans have seen Cammy Bell depart the Energy Check Stadium today but there may yet be another face moving, this time coming in.

The Firhill board and management are currently looking at getting another deal over the line, with a new striker top of their hit list.

The Jags have the joint-worst goal difference in the Championship with -14. With Steven Anderson coming in at the back, another forward could be the answer for Gary Caldwell.

They have four and a half hours...

In response to some Celtic fans showing very little enthusiasm towards a third loan signing this month, C.J Flynn has got in touch using the hashtag #BBCsportscot: "Don't understand Celtic fans complaining about loans, particularly in January. In 2018, our permanent January business consisted of (Marvin) Compper, (Lewis) Morgan and (Jack) Hendry. Varying degrees of success, it's fair to say. As for loans? (Charly) Musonda didn't work, Scott Bain did."

Stoke City’s interest in Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna looks to have cooled.

It appears that Aberdeen and the English Championship club cannot agree on the valuation of the 22-year-old Scotland international.

  5. 'Brown is the biggest character I've worked with'published at 19:09 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2019

    Kris Commons
Former Celtic attacker on BBC Sportsound

Celtic captain Scott Brown signed a new two-year contract extension with the Scottish champions earlier today, having rejected a move to Western Melbourne.

"Scott Brown is possibly the biggest character I've ever worked with - not just on the park, but he tirelessly works with the young kids. He's a tremendous worker, a great athlete, a good leader.

"Certain things needed to be changed when Brendan Rodgers came in - his off-field activities were in question. Once he ironed all those out, he became a completely different player. Brendan added man-management to his game, having a big influence on people around him. Not just the players and coaches, the secretary, the ground staff, people at the stadium."

Remember Moussa Dembele's philosophical memes? What about Partick Thistle's bungled hangman-style transfer unveiling? Or how "sad" Morton were that Ray McKinnon jumped ship to Falkirk.

If the summer deadline day was anything to go by, we should be in for a treat tonight...

Confirmation of Shved's arrival has been met by some mixed responses on Twitter...

"Ukraine, you saw, you left...(on loan)," says SC32ie.

    Scott Mullen
    BBC Scotland

Aaron Taylor-Sinclair's loan move from Motherwell to Crewe yesterday could trigger the Fir Park club into deadline day action.

The Scottish Premiership side are understood to be looking at different options with a view of adding another fresh face to Gboly Ariyibi and Ross McCormack.

It was always going to be a case of one out to get one in, and Taylor-Sinclair's move may have come just in time.

  11. 'Future' prospect Shved loaned back to Ukrainian clubpublished at 18:45 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2019

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers said this week he did not "know a great deal" about new signing Maryan Shved.

Rogers told the press the 21-year-old Karpaty Lviv player would "probably benefit the club in the future" and would likely be loaned out as Celtic already have "about a million wingers".

That scenario has now come to pass - Shved has signed a four-and-a-half-year Celtic deal and has immediately been loaned back to the Ukrainian club.

Jim McIntyre's wholesale clear out at Dundee has claimed its latest victim in the form of forward Sofien Moussa - yes he definitely has left the club.

The Tunisian player bagged 14 goals in his time at the club but he obviously didn't do enough to convince the new gaffer that he was worth holding on to.

Yes, Sofien Moussa has been released by Dundee, but someone called @Manpreet_1876 has gone to the trouble of creating a fake Partick Thistle account and photo of the striker in suitable attire to prematurely announce the Tunisian's move to Firhill.

News of transfers coming thick and fast on deadline day and, if you're not careful, you can be taken in by a few scammers out there.
