The twinkle of lit up phones can be seen around Parc des Princes, where supporters of both sides roar on, cheer and boo almost every play.

Scotland’s send off against Jamaica at Hampden was something to behold, but this atmosphere with Scotland ahead in a World Cup game is just wonderful.

Hopefully the players will continue to thrive on it and sent the fans home, or onwards in France, with even more to shout about.

A wild lunge from Mariana Larroquette sends Nicola Docherty crashing to the turf. It's a shocker of a challenge but no sign of a card from the referee. Incredible.

I can see us getting more goals now. I can see Argentina opening up and feeling a need to be more attacking. Already you can see gaps in their defence.

What have Argentina got now? The first half was pretty even but that goal appears to have knocked the stuffing out of the South Americans.

What a clever, composed build-up from Scotland. The players worked so well together and scorer Jen Beattie was waiting patiently for her moment, timing her header beautifully.

Anyone checked on BBC Scotland’s John Beattie?

    Jen Beattie

Oh yes! A Caroline Weir corner is not the best but when the ball is worked back to her the Manchester City midfielder whips in a wonderful cross and there is Jen Beattie to nod home from close range.

That moves Scotland on to a level goal difference, which could be crucial, although a goal or two more would be most welcome.

Scotland need to be clever here. Argentina haven't created much but they look like they're capable of a goal. They haven't scored in two-and-a-half World Cup games, but Scotland won't want to take any chances.

The Scots may have the advantage at the break but the game remains in the balance.

There has been some nice, creative attacking play and it’s been much better defensively, so hopefully Scotland can add goals to give themselves their best chance at progression to the last 16.

And there's plenty for SWNT supporter Sir Alex Ferguson to shout about from his living room...

Better communication and passing from Scotland. Being ahead for the first time in the tournament finals in what is such a crucial, pressured game has clearly given them a lift.

There’s almost an air of expectation from the Tartan Army in the stands, but players like Argentina's Estefania Bonini are still looking dangerous
