Hibs will have to respond and put Celtic under pressure but the problem for them is it opens them up to Celtic on the counter attack.

    James Forrest

What. A. Goal. Celtic break the deadlock in considerable style as James Forrest collects possession about 25 yards from goal before arrowing an unstoppable drive high into the top corner beyond the despairing Ofir Marciano.

  5. Burke tumbles; no free-kickpublished at 57 mins

    Hibernian 0-0 Celtic

Oliver Burke thunders towards goal but takes a tumble under the close attention of Lewis Stevenson. The winger wants a free-kick, referee Willie Collum, with a shake of the head, is having none of it.

Stevenson did appear to clip Burke but no free-kick. Play rages on; what a cup tie.

  6. Bottle thrown by Hibs fanspublished at 55 mins

Scott Sinclair trots over to take a corner kick, but play is delayed as a bottle thrown from the section housing the Hibs supporters is removed by referee Willie Collum.

  7. Tierney half chancepublished at 53 mins

    Hibernian 0-0 Celtic

Kieran Tierney snatches at a chance following patient play by Celtic when the left-back might have been better playing in the unmarked Scott Sinclair. The shot is blocked and Hibs clear.

  8. Chances for both sidespublished at 52 mins

    Hibernian 0-0 Celtic

Like buses, two chances come along in a minute. Firstly, the galloping Oliver Burke whips in a great cross for Odsonne Edouard but the Frenchman's first touch - a chest - takes the ball away from him and Hibs clear.

Play rages up the other end and Marc McNulty tests Scott Bain but his drive lacks power to seriously worry the Celtic goalkeeper.

  11. Possession surrendered cheaplypublished at 46 mins

    Hibernian 0-0 Celtic

Both sides trade possession like the proverbial hot potato immediately after the restart. The upshot is a corner to Hibernian; but the hosts can't profit from the set-piece.

It's hugely disappointing given the quality of players on the pitch. You would expect more. The rain is teeming down and the pitch isn't in great nick. Hibs aren’t giving Celtic room to create. Neil Lennon had to discard Odsonne Edouard playing as a number 10 and it’s been much better since he went up top. I’m expecting better but the wind and the rain is spoiling it.

  16. HALF-TIME Hibernian 0-0 Celticpublished at 18:00

You can't take your eyes off this one. Like two heavyweight boxers trading blows, neither side has been able to land a knockout blow.

It remains goalless, with Hibs looking dangerous on the counter, while Oliver Burke and Odsonne Edouard have gone closest for the visitors.

Hibs lack a player that go and take people on in the final third. Their wide men are working hard but not getting into the box and taking players on.

  19. Omeonga flairpublished at 40 mins
