And an early goal at the Riverside too.

Middlesbrough ahead against Brentford through Ashley Fletcher.

Dan Bentley initially made a good save to deny Britt Assombalonga before the ball was recycled to Mo Besic whose shot was spilled into the path of Fletcher to tap home.

  2. goal

GOAL: West Brom 1-0 Ipswich Townpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Stefan Johansen (4 mins)

First goal of the afternoon Championship kick-offs comes at The Hawthorns.

West Brom take just four minutes to take the lead against bottom-placed Ipswich.

Stefan Johansen with the goal for the Baggies. His free-kick takes a horrible deflection off the Ipswich wall and leaves Bartosz Bialkowski wrong-footed.

  3. Postpublished at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Reading 0-0 Wigan Athletic

A lively start to this one from the hosts and Yakou Meite tries his luck from distance.

But the Reading forward's strike is drilled over the crossbar and into the empty seats behind.

  4. Postpublished at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Nottingham Forest 0-0 Hull

He scored early against Derby in Forest's last home game, and he has another attempt at an early opener today, but Yohan Benalouane's volley goes wide.

  5. Postpublished at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Bristol City 0-0 Leeds

Leeds have won on four of their past six league visits to Ashton Gate.

Another win today would lift them back up in to second - but that won't be easy, against a Bristol City side backed by a sold-out crowd in the West Country.

  9. The chasing pack...published at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

Nottingham Forest v Hull (15:00 GMT)

One of either Nottingham Forest or Hull City could find themselves within a point of the play-off places by the close of play today, or they could be up to seven points behind.

If you're looking for a play-off chase 'six-pointer', keep an eye on matters at the City Ground, where 10th faces 11th. They're both level on 50 points after 35 games.

  10. Cobblers lead Exeterpublished at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Northampton 1-0 Exeter

It's worth mentioning that there is one early game in League Two.

Aaron Pierre has given Northampton the lead against Exeter. The half-time whistle is about to blow at Sixfields.

  11. Parkinson performing 'miracles' - Kilbanepublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Bolton v Millwall (15:00 GMT)

    Football Focus

Bolton owner Ken Anderson says he is in talks with "several parties" over a takeover he hopes happens in the coming days, while chief executive Paul Aldridge said on Friday that the players should be paid their wages by Monday.

Commenting on how manager Phil Parkinson has kept the players motivated amid all the unrest and uncertainty, BBC Sport pundit Kevin Kilbane told BBC One:

"What Phil Parkinson has done there is nothing short of miraculous, but the plight of Bolton and other clubs in this position has alienated supporters."

  12. A game Bolton simply must win?published at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Bolton v Millwall (15:00 GMT)

After a tumultuous week off the field for Bolton Wanderers comes a simply huge game in their battle to try and avoid relegation.

They host 20th-placed Millwall this afternoon, who are just one point above the drop zone and eight above the cash-strapped Trotters.

If they're going to produce a great escape, Wanderers surely must win this one.

But they'll be without manager Phil Parkinson - he's serving the first of a two-match touchline ban.

  13. Another six-pointer for Royalspublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

Reading v Wigan Athletic (15:00 GMT)

    Al HabsiImage source, Rex Features

It seems every game for Reading is "a big one" at the moment as they continue their fight to stay out of the relegation zone.

After a draw against Rotherham and a late win at bottom-placed Ipswich in the past two games, it's Wigan for Jose Gomes' side this afternoon who are just three points ahead of them.

The odds are long on an away win this afternoon with Wigan winless in their previous 15 Championship away games since beating Stoke 3-0 in August.

A nice little tribute on the Reading programme today with the cover star a man who made a few stunning saves in his career for both clubs in Ali Al-Habsi.

  14. Baggies searching for their boing! againpublished at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

West Brom v Ipswich Town (15:00 GMT)

    Jay RodImage source, PA

Back-to-back defeats for West Brom have probably put paid to their realistic hopes of automatic promotion, but what better chance to get back on track than by hosting the division's basement side.

Struggling Ipswich travel to the Hawthorns this afternoon as the Baggies look to correct their course after being beaten by fellow promotion contenders Sheffield United and Leeds United.

West Brom have not lost three consecutive league games outside the top flight since March 2007 and I can't imagine they'll want to change that against a side who've only won three games all season.

It's a 12-point gap for Paul Lambert's Ipswich to safety as it stands which certainly puts the Tractor Boys in the last-chance saloon.

  15. Boro hope Bees' poor travels continuepublished at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Middlesbrough v Brentford (15:00 GMT)

Middlesbrough host Brentford as they bid to keep a stranglehold on their play-off place.

It could well be a welcome fixture for Tony Pulis' side as they entertain a Brentford team who have only won once away from home all season. Only Rotherham have won fewer (zero) this term in the Championship.

What's more - there's been three consecutive clean sheets for Boro in the league, so Brentford know they will have to work hard to double their away day successes for this season.

Sergi Canos comes back into their side to potentially add a goal threat while Boro are unchanged for the fourth game in a row.

  16. Rams bid to break-in to play-off placespublished at 14:35 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

Derby County v Sheffield Wednesday (15:00 GMT)

    LampsImage source, PA

Frank Lampard's Derby County were made to sweat a bit on Tuesday before beating struggling Wigan 2-1 at home.

It's back to Pride Park again this afternoon for the seventh-placed Rams as Steve Bruce brings his Sheffield Wednesday side to the East Midlands.

Bruce will hope to change a rather poor run of form for The Owls against Derby with the club having won just four of their past 31 league matches against The Rams.

If Derby better Bristol City's result against Leeds this afternoon, they will climb up to sixth.

  18. Sellout awaits sixth v thirdpublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

Bristol City v Leeds (15:00 GMT)

    Ashton GateImage source, PA

The game of the day in the EFL is arguably at Ashton Gate, where a sold-out crowd awaits sixth versus third in the race to reach the Premier League.

Hosts Bristol City - who give a first start to 19-year-old forward Antoine Semenyo - start the day in the top six only on goal difference, above Derby.

Leeds, who were so impressive in their 4-0 thumping of West Brom last time out - would move back in to the automatic promotion places if they won.

  19. Postpublished at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    There's your fixture lists.

Before we get going with some match previews in the Championship, I'll quickly mention that Brighton have beaten Crystal Palace 2-1 in the early Premier League game.

Huge bragging rights for Seagulls fans in that derby. A cracking winner as well from Anthony Knockaert when you get chance to check it out.

  20. League Two fixturespublished at 14:24 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Kick-off 15:00 GMT unless stated

    Sol CampbellImage source, Rex Features

There were two games in League Two last night which both finished in 1-0 wins for leaders Lincoln City over Yeovil and play-off contenders Tranmere against Crewe.

That means the Imps have a five-point lead over second-placed Bury, who are on the road at Stevenage this afternoon.

Mansfield Town, who occupy the third automatic promotion place are also on their travels this afternoon at Port Vale.

Down the bottom end, it's almost getting to "win-or-bust" stage for strugglers Notts County and Macclesfield Town, who are five and four points adrift of safety respectively.

County are on their travels at Cheltenham Town while Sol Campbell's Macclesfield host MK Dons.

Sol has definitely shuffled his pack today, making a whopping nine changes!

There's already one match under way too at Sixfields Stadium as you can see:

    • Northampton Town 0-0 Exeter City (14:00 GMT)
    • Cambridge United v Oldham Athletic
    • Carlisle United v Swindon Town
    • Cheltenham Town v Notts County
    • Colchester United v Newport County
    • Crawley Town v Grimsby Town
    • Macclesfield Town v MK Dons
    • Morecambe v Forest Green Rovers
    • Port Vale v Mansfield Town
    • Stevenage v Bury
