More than 14,000 Blackpool fans are expected at Bloomfield Road with supporters returning in their droves in the post-Oyston era.

The removal of owner Owen Oyston from the board last month has generated renewed optimism at the League One club.

The background is too much to go into here, but here's what Blackpool Supporters Trust chairwoman Christine Seddon told BBC Sport:

"When you've suffered for something, when you've been deprived of something and you've fought for it and won, that gives you so much pride.

"It's been a very, very, long, drawn-out and painful campaign. There have been some very dark times. When nothing seemed to be happening, that's when it was hardest."

Leaders Luton travel to Plymouth as they bid to stretch both their five-point lead and their 22-match unbeaten run in the division.

Hoping to stay in their shadow will be second-placed Barnsley, who host Accrington. Any slip up for the Tykes could allow third-placed Sunderland the chance to jump above them as they travel to Wycombe.

Play-off contenders Charlton and Portsmouth meet in the tea time kick-off at The Valley.

At the other end of the table, Gary Bowyer (pictured above) takes charge of struggling Bradford City for the first time as they bid to mount a great escape, starting at home against Peterborough.

    Sheff Utd 2-0 Rotherham

Sheffield United are back up to second in the Championship! And that's seven wins in a row at Bramall Lane. Wow.

Goals in either half from Jack O'Connell and Mark Duffy take the Blades above Leeds.

Rotherham's task was made 100 times tougher when Will Vaulks was sent off on 28 minutes, as they stay in the relegation zone.

It's a tad windy in the north east - as Brentford boss Thomas Frank just found out.

Oh, at Bramall Lane five minutes have been added on. Little happening with Sheffield United 2-0 up though.

    Darnell Fisher (90+2 mins)

Preston's Darnell Fisher is shown a second yellow card, for a poor challenge on Amari'i Bell, and he's off.

The visitors will have to see out three more minutes with just 10 men, as they try and hold on to their 1-0 lead...

  14. Postpublished at 13:49 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Blackburn 0-1 Preston

As they enter the final minute of the regular 90, instead of Blackburn being on the attack, it's Preston with back-to-back corners...

  15. Postpublished at 13:44 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Blackburn 0-1 Preston

Rovers are winless in their past four league matches against Preston - losing three - since 2015.

That run is set to continue here, as the clock continues to count down... They're in to the final five minutes now and the North End goal hasn't really been threatened in these closing stages.

  16. Postpublished at 13:42 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Sheff Utd 1-0 Rotherham

    PINBALL!

The ball zings around in the Rotherham box, goalkeeper Marek Rodak saves but is then caught in no-man's land, but David McGoldrick skews an effort wide.

Are the Blades going to be made to pay for these missed opportunities? 25 minutes to go.

  17. Postpublished at 13:40 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Sheff Utd 1-0 Rotherham

Conditions aren't really helping the flow of the game at Bramall Lane. It's soaking.

The hosts are still dominating possession, but they'll want another goal quickly, just to make sure.

  18. Postpublished at 13:39 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Blackburn 0-1 Preston

Blackburn have just less than 10 minutes left to find an equaliser.

  19. Postpublished at 13:36 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Blackburn 0-1 Preston

    Alex NeilImage source, Rex Features

To remind you, if it stays like this, Preston would climb up to eighth in the league table.

And, of course, they'd be over the moon to complete a league double over their local rivals!

  20. Postpublished at 13:34 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    Sheff Utd 1-0 Rotherham

Sheffield United are still enjoying plenty of the ball, but Rotherham's 10 men are holding firm.

David McGoldrick tries his luck from just inside the box, but the ball is gathered by Marek Rodak.
