The big winners on Tuesday night were the teams playing on Wednesday night!

3-0 losses for Reading and Wigan, a 2-0 loss at home for Bolton and a point for Ipswich, means it is as you were at the bottom.

Rotherham and Millwall are away at Queens Park Rangers and Birmingham City respectively - wins for either of them could see them move away from the drop zone at the expense of Wigan.

Tomorrow sees title contenders Norwich host Hull as they continue to vie for automatic promotion with Leeds and Sheffield United.

West Brom begin life after Darren Moore at home to Swansea while former European Cup winners Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa meet at the City Ground.

Leeds return to the top of the table after that 3-0 win at Reading.

Norwich will go back to the top if they can get a point at home to Hull City on Wednesday night.

Sheffield United remain third after they beat Brentford 2-0 despite having 10 men.

Bristol City are back into the play-off places after their draw at home to bottom side Ipswich - Derby County and Nottingham Forest can take their place depending on how they do tomorrow.

I know we've got tomorrow night to get through first, but Saturday sees new Championship leaders Leeds host third-placed Sheffield United in a Yorkshire lunchtime derby.

If that doesn't get you excited I'm not sure what will...

Leeds United are top of the pile....for tonight at least.

Three goals before half-time, including two very impressive strikes by Pablo Hernandez wrapped this one up early on.

Reading's recent resurgence comes to a halt, but they stay three points clear of the bottom three with Millwall and Rotherham below them in action tomorrow.

Ken Anderson's tenure as Bolton owner ends on a whimper - if the planned takeover of the club happens this week.

A relatively forgettable game was brought to life when Steven Fletcher's excellent finish from Barry Bannan's lovely through ball put the Owls ahead just before half time.

Rolando Aarons blasted a second after an hour to extend Steve Bruce's unbeaten run as Sheffield Wednesday manager.

The Owls are up to 14th place, Bolton remain second from bottom.

Bolton's Clayton Donaldson has a half-volley brilliantly saved by Keiran Westwood in the Wednesday goal in the 93rd minute.

• Leaders Luton Town march on to a 24th match unbeaten with a 1-0 win at struggling Bradford City.
• That result sees their lead stretched to five points after Barnsley and Sunderland - in second and third - played out a goalless draw at Oakwell.
• Portsmouth and Charlton in fourth and fifth both pick up wins at Walsall and at home to Burton respectively.
• Sixth-placed Doncaster have to settle for a point at Blackpool.
• Bottom-placed Wimbledon give themselves a survival lifeline with a 1-0 win at home to Peterborough.

• Notts County are off the bottom after they win 3-1 at play-off chasing Carlisle United - Macclesfield drop to the bottom after their game with Exeter was postponed
• Directly above them Port Vale put a four-point gap between themselves and third-from-bottom Yeovil Town after a 3-0 win over the Glovers
• MK Dons drop out of the top three after they lose 3-2 at Morecambe - the Shrimps are now nine points above the drop zone
• Lincoln City are five points clear at the top after a 2-0 win over Oldham Athletic

Danny Graham's double and Bradley Dack's 15th goal of the season gives Blackburn a comfortable victory over a hapless Wigan side.

Paul Cook's side have won just one of their 19 Championship away games and will look over their shoulders as relegation rivals Rotherham and Millwall play tomorrow.

So nearly 4-0 to Leeds as Patrick Bamford finds himself through in Reading's penalty box.

But, his left-foot shot rolls wide of the right-hand post. Just over 10 minutes to play.

A huge win for Chris Wilder's Sheffield United against Brentford.

With Leeds winning at Reading they needed three points to keep the pressure up at the top.

Oliver Norwood's penalty put them ahead in the first half, but when Gary Madine was sent off six minutes before the break it looked as though it would be a tough night for them.

But United defended doggedly and took their only real chance in the second half as David McGoldrick headed them 2-0 up with seven minutes to go.

Super save by Remi Matthews to keep the score down.

Rolando Aarons skips past his marker and squares for Sam Winnall, but his strong effort is brilliantly stopped by the Bolton keeper with 14 minutes to go.

All over at Ashton Gate.

Bristol City are back in the play-off places (on goal difference for now) but they will have wanted so much more from this.

Ipswich battle hard for a defiant draw and there are boos from the home fans after that one.

90 minutes up on the clock and Ipswich midfielder Teddy Bishop nearly weaves his way through the home defence for a winner.

Deflected wide for a corner but the Tractor Boys make little of it with three additional minutes to play.

Around 75 minutes gone at Bolton. You have missed very little since Wednesday went 2-0 up.

Leeds had it sewn up well before half-time and they are heading to the summit this evening.

The Bees are not giving up without a fight - substitute Sergi Canos former Dean Henderson to save form a long-range effort.
