    Matt Grimes (pen)

Wigan in 2018, Swansea in 2019?

Matt Grimes smashes in the penalty, left-footed, sending Ederson the wrong way.

    It just got interesting.

    Cat, meet pigeons.

Connor Roberts cuts in off the right flank, Fabian Delph lunges. Stonewall.

I'll be honest, Craig, when it comes to football management, I think Pep knows what he's doing.

Pep can always accuse Sancho of not being up for the fight but look at how few chances Pep gives Phil Foden.....ideal game for him to start, but yet he's still on the bench!!?? Plenty of talk but no action Pep, Sancho did the right thing.

Leroy Sane looks to be on the mend. Sterling has sat back down. As you were.

Leroy Sane is struggling with a knock, so Raheem Sterling has been sent to warm-up. Not ideal with Manchester City's fixture list, but if you're going to get injured, do it in international week.

The approach from Swansea is refreshing to see, a lot of teams shut up shop and wait to get beaten but Swansea will not do that. I am not sure if it will be enough though because it feels like a Man City goal is coming!

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 14 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Manchester City

Another cracking save from Kristoffer Nordfeldt, who is set for a busy night. A cross floated to the far post is met by a volley from Bernado Silva, with Nordfeldt going to his left to push it away.

To stick on the sartorial theme, Graham Potter is absolutely battering Pep Guardiola. Shirt and tie, sweater, covered by a jacket that is smarter than a weasel. With a haircut borrowed from Paul Weller, he looks like the last mod in Swansea.

Now then. For the first time, Swansea show us something. Daniel James, on the left flank, looks like he's got jets in his heels. When the ball comes to the middle, there's confusion in the Manchester City defence, but the Swans can't take advantage. Good for the neutral, that.

Ominous signs in the opening minutes, Swansea have been cut open a few times already. Credit to Swansea though, they have tried to get a press on higher up the field, at times City will press through you and you have to hope your defence can make the right decisions.

    Swansea 0-0 Manchester City

This is like a game of attack v defence, Swansea currently operating with nine men in their own half. Manchester City, though, somehow still find space. Pep is off his seat, urging his team on. The home fans are in good voice.

You know what Sane is going to do, but you just can't stop it. He jinks back onto his left foot and goes past Connor Roberts like he isn't there. Really good goalkeeping from Nordfeldt

Shots of Pep in that grey coatigan. It's made to look marginally better by the mop of Sergio Aguero, who sits behind his boss with bleached highlights in his hair. More importantly, Leroy Sane jinks into the Swansea box and is only denied by a smart save by Kristoffer Nordfeldt, with Riyad Mahrez's follow-up header drifting wide.

The visitors have settled on a purple shirts/orange shorts combo. They are being pressed by the home team, who look magnificent in all white. In a flash, it's defence to attack, with Kyle Walker winning another corner.

An early Manchester City corner. It comes out to Riyad Mahrez, but when he floats in a cross, the flag goes up.

The in-house DJ is already 'avin it, belting out the dance numbers as the players emerge from the tunnel. The teams line up, then Swansea move down the Man City queue for the handshakes.

Remember what I said about City's garish colours? Their manager doesn't help when he wears something that doesn't know if it's a coat or a cardigan.

    And why is he asleep?
