Just before the whistle, Nemanja Matic went in the book, but I'm not sure what for.

Either way, that's the break. It got better as it went on.

One minute to be added on. We'll get to half-time just as this one has warmed up.

In the aftermath of that Jota chance, Ruben Neves went in the book for a challenge on Paul Pogba, who is being kicked more than a government mule.

Sergio Romero has come out in a flash there and really closed down the angle. Jota manages to stay onside and the 'keeper is on him in a flash. Maybe he could lift it over him but I think Jota is surprised to see the 'keeper out so high.

United are being a bit too intricate from their corners and are reluctant to put it in the box.

    Chance! Big chance!

Diogo Jota free down the left, the United defence AWOL. Jota moves towards the penalty area, with Sergio Romero swiftly off his line. When the save comes, Romero is only a yard or so inside the box. good keeping.

I'm a little disappointed at your attitude towards finding the best beard in football. Heat just being turned up in Molineux. More noise. Paul Pogba shows himself for the first time in a while. Willy Boly nails him and goes in the book.

Jack: Away on a weekend with my Wolves-supporting girlfriend. As I’m a United fan, we have a pact to ignore the game & enjoy tonight. Anyway, she’s nipped off to the loo & I wonder if we’re missing a classic. Check live text: it’s about beards. Don’t think we’re missing much

Is he making himself bigger? I think that is the back of the arm and Wolves might be OK with this one.

Now it's United's turns to ask for the spot-kick. Diogo Dalot's shot into Jonny's arms. The men in red plead for a penalty, but only get a corner.

Now then. Wolves corner. At least one gold shirt goes down under the challenge of a United player. It's like a lineout in rugby. Chris Smalling has his arms around Willy Boly. Surely VAR should be looking at that?

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a lengthy conversation with fourth official Roger East then swirls his arm around theatrically in all directions - is he pointing out that he feels the noisy Molineux crowd is influencing referee Martin Atkinson?

Hasn't appeared like that. Maybe just enjoying the improved weather conditions.

It's got a lot to live up to given what's gone before but this is all very uneventful so far.

Blimey. A poor game has taken a turn for the worse. A short United corner is played to Marcus Rashford, who tries to leather it so hard that he only miscues the ball in the direction of Birmingham. Awful.

I had to look him up, but we may have a new champion. Also, best beard in football is only a typo from 'best bard in football', which is a whole new debate.

That is one hell of an effort from Neves to hit that first time and at pace as well. He controls it nicely, it is an easy save but it is good technique.

Wolves corner. Captain Conor Coady urges them on. It's off the training ground. Ruben Neves is miles out, outside the D - it's played to him and he hits it first time, but Sergio Romero is down to smother.

First sniff of a real chance. Rolled across the face of the Wolves goal, only for Leander Dendoncker to throw himself in front of a red shirt. On the whole, though, it's been a bit underwhelming.
