Minutes later St Mirren do have the ball in the net but Simeone Jackson's header is ruled out for an earlier foul.

Skipper Richard Tait caps a superb second-half show from the Steelmen with a curled finish from the left-hand side of the box. The ball seems to deceive Saints keeper Zander Clark and nestles in the bottom corner.

All the plaudits will go to Kilmarnock today for their performance but Hamilton Academical have been really poor.

Accies have no answer to the inventive play from the home team. McKenzie set up Mulumbu for the third and the winger should have scored himself when his first time striker from Kris Boyd’s headed knock down went straight at goalkeeper Woods.

Lovely curling finish from the edge of the box puts the Steelmen ahead. Charles Dunne bursts forward from defence and his pass is laid off superbly by Curtis Main for substitute Frear to guide a shot into the bottom corner.

Hearts striker Uche Ikpeazu is cautioned for diving in the box but the replays show the big striker was very, very unlucky. He gets to the ball before Joe Lewis and the Aberdeen keeper appears to catch him.
Referee John Beaton saw it differently and flashed a yellow card. A huge let-off for Aberdeen.
