  4. Yellow cards. Lots of yellow cards.published at 15:52 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

HT: Aston Villa 0-0 Bristol City

    Brendon Mitchell
    BBC Sport at Villa Park

I said at the start that I couldn't see this finishing goalless - and now I'm not sure we're going to end with 22 players on the field either.

The yellow card count has ticked up to six - three Bristol City players, two Bristol City coaches and one Aston Villa player.

Marlon Pack has come closest to getting his marching orders, but the referee handed him a reprieve when he hauled Albert Adomah down having already been booked.

Both teams have had chances as well, most notably the home side when Adomah struck the post and Conor Hourihane's header from inside the six-yard box was somehow kept out by Max O'Leary.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Ipswich 0-1 Birmingham

Ipswich are 45 minutes away from relegation as they trail at the break. Only a win today can prolong the Tractor Boys' stay in the second tier.

Things appear bleak for Bolton. They fall 2-0 down as Mason Mount finishes off a super team move from Derby.

The Rams are going to be closing the gap on sixth spot if this continues.

  7. goal

GOAL: Reading 2-1 Brentfordpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Neal Maupay (45 mins)

Reading looked set to be cruising to half-time with a 2-0 lead but then, from a free-kick, the Bees are back in it.

Said Benrahma's free-kick is spilled by Royals keeper Emiliano Martinez and Neal Maupay is there to head in and halve the deficit.

  8. League One latestpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

The thriller of the day so far in the EFL is surely at the Stadium of Light, where Sunderland are now 3-2 down at home to Coventry, fighting back from 3-1.

As it stands, all of the Black Cats' rivals for a top-two spot are taking full advantage, with Luton, Barnsley and Portsmouth all winning.

The Tykes - who lead Fleetwood 2-0 now - are up to second, if things stay like this.

  9. goal

    Jay Rodriguez (43 mins)

Having seen his strike partner strike twice already, Baggies top scorer Jay Rodriguez gets in on the act.

Stefan Johansen is the creator again, and J-Rod has his 21st league goal of the campaign.

Preston boss Alex Neil was linked to the job at The Hawthorns in midweek, and his side are having a torrid time.

  10. Postpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

As it stands, all of the Championship's bottom three are behind this afternoon, with Rotherham still 2-0 down at Stoke as well as Ipswich and Bolton trailing 1-0.

That'll be good news for all the sides loitering just above the danger zone.

  12. League Two relegation battle latestpublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

The EFL's bottom club Notts County have fallen behind at Crewe, while it remains goalless in the game between two of the Magpies' closest relegation rivals, Yeovil and Crawley.

Fellow-strugglers Macclesfield are also still goallless, away at Forest Green.

  13. goal

GOAL: Derby 1-0 Boltonpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Craig Bryson (37 mins)

  16. Postpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Derby 0-0 Bolton

Elsewhere, Derby are all over Bolton, but Wanderers keeper Remi Matthews is in top form, tipping Martyn Waghorn's latest effort just over the bar.

These two teams are unlikely to meet here in the play-offs - if both do, indeed, make the top six - but this match definitely has a proper big-game, play-off semi-final feel to it.

In an increasingly tetchy atmosphere, already there have been five yellow cards, two of them for a couple of Bristol City's coaching staff.

The hosts should be in front, too, make no mistake about that.

Albert Adomah had the goal at his mercy when he headed against the post, while Conor Hourihane was denied by goalkeeper Max O'Leary from point-blank range just a few moments ago.

  18. goal

    Sam Clucas (29 mins)

It's two goals in two minutes for Stoke and Rotherham now have it all to do...

Sam Vokes turns supplier this time, feeding Sam Clucas who sweeps the ball in to the roof of the net from inside the area.

    Stoke 1-0 Rotherham

    Phil Cartwright
    BBC Sport at Bet365 Stadium

Maybe that's why Ashley Williams is playing at right-back! He put in a delicious curling cross that was begging to be headed in by Sam Vokes.

That was Stoke's first effort on target in the game.
