  3. 'Premier League is about being clinical'published at 17:34 British Summer Time 6 April 2019

    Huddersfield 1-4 Leicester

    Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield manager Jan Siewart speaking to Match of the Day: "I can take positives, we don't like the result at all, at half-time we were down 1-0 and we changed it and came out and tried everything. We tried everything and they scored too easily, we know this. Credit to Leicester, they were clinical today.

"Big credit to Kasper Schmeichel for a fantastic save, we had other possibilities to score but they managed the chances today and we didn't do it.

"We have to give credit to Leicester, we couldn't beat their quality today, they were much more clinical than we are and we need too many opportunities.

"The supporters know the time in the Premier League is time we can take much learning out of. It's about being clinical - this is the crucial thing about being in the Premier League."

  4. Postpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 6 April 2019

    Newcastle 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Newcastle United

More from Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez speaking to MOTD: "Big disappointment because we had a lot of chances and lots of shots on goal but this is sometimes the kind of game you cannot win but it is important not to lose.

"The most difficult one is the final third. We pushed and we attacked but we didn't control the counter-attack the way we should have done.

On Florian Lejeune's injury: "We don't know. He had a problem with the right knee at the start of the season and this was the left knee.

"We will have to see what the doc says but it looks bad. We knew if we won this game we would perhaps be safe but we didn't get it so we have to keep going."

  5. 'It will see us over the line'published at 17:26 British Summer Time 6 April 2019

    Newcastle 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson speaking to PLP: "Yes, I think 39 points with our goal difference will see us over the line. It was a very hard fought game and I'm pleased with the way we handled it.

"It was a very sterling effort from the back four and goalkeeper to deal with the balls they whipped into the area.

On Luka Milivojevic's penalty: "There's no-one better from the spot. It's great that Luka is doing that and it's the real skill but we have to pay tribute to Wilfried Zaha who keeps winning these penalties."

  7. 'A tough afternoon'published at 17:22 British Summer Time 6 April 2019

    Huddersfield 1-4 Leicester

    Huddersfield Town

Hudderfield goalscorer Aaron Mooy speaking to Match of the Day: "It was a tough afternoon, the first half was poor, we didn't show much and we showed our reaction at the start of the second half.

"When they scored the third our heads dropped and it's difficult. We've had such a tough season and it's just another day when we were not good enough.

"You could tell we gave it everything, but once they got the third it's natural to feel down.

"It's been a really hard week emotionally. It's weird, you feel bad the whole week in training and it's hard to pick yourself up again but we need to represent the club in the best way we can for the rest of the season."

  8. 'It looks bad'published at 17:19 British Summer Time 6 April 2019

    Newcastle 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez speaking to PLP: "It's a game we can't believe we lost. With the chances we had and the control we had... we made too many mistakes in the last minutes.

"We had enough chances to win the game. These are the kind of games that leave you very disappointed. Every game is a final and every game we will try to get three points."

On the injury to Florian Lejeune: "It looks bad but we have to wait and see what the doctor says."

  9. 'There was calmness to our play'published at 17:16 British Summer Time 6 April 2019

    Bournemouth 1-3 Burnley

    Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche: "So many parts of the performance were strong today. I know Bournemouth have had a tricky spell in the league, but here they’re strong.

"There was no nervousness and we stayed clear-minded. We had some real moments of quality too.

"There was a real calmness to our play. Twenty-four points since Christmas is a very strong return. We kept playing, we kept probing, we kept doing all the diligent things that we do well.

"They kept changing system and changing personnel, but we saw the game out very professionally. It puts us in a much healthier situation than we were two games ago. We want to finish the season well and the next game is very important."

Matt Lewis: Hodgson’s football is sometimes unspectacular, but he has given Palace what they have so often lacked; a consistent execution of the basics. They have become an organised, half-decent Premier League team. Just imagine if we had a consistent striker...

Joshua Warner: Am i the only one who thinks James maddison is quite a bit like Antoine Griezemen? Hes such a promising player that IMO should be called up to the England Squad.

  11. 'We are running out of games'published at 17:11 British Summer Time 6 April 2019

    Bournemouth 1-3 Burnley

    Bournemouth

More from Eddie Howe speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We were looking at the second half and wanted constant pressure but it didn't happen. Burnley managed their lead well. There were good bits in the first half. The second half was flat. That was the least we expected.

"We are still fighting for points. This season is very much alive. We are running out of games now. We need to pick ourselves up.

"We will have to look at everything we are delivery, go back to basics and try and make things right."

  12. 'Win will keep us up'published at 17:08 British Summer Time 6 April 2019

    Newcastle 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

"This three points will guarantee [us staying up]," said Crystal Palace captain and goalscorer Luka Milivojevic.

"Today our game over 90 minutes was very good. We controlled the game in the second half.

"This season I have scored a lot [of penalties] which is not easy but we cannot forget the attacking players with a lot of quality and skills [to win the penalties]."

  13. 'The season isn't over yet'published at 17:06 British Summer Time 6 April 2019

    Bournemouth 1-3 Burnley

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe speaking to Sky Sports: "There were lots of elements from our performance today which wasn't great.

"I have always backed our goalkeepers. Mistakes happen in football. Today we made numerous mistakes in areas we wouldn't expect them to happen.

"We pride ourselves on our professionalism and our ability to never give up. It didn't look like that today. We are on a difficult run and confidence is maybe a bit low but the season isn't over yet.

"It is difficult to set those benchmarks. We wanted to improve this season. Whether we have, I don't know. We haven't performed in front of our home supporters today which is desperately disappointing."

That defeat for Newcastle means they drop to 15th place and are still not quite safe. Burnley move above them thanks to their crucial three points, while Bournemouth fail to move any closer to the top 10.

Leicester leapfrog Wolves into seventh place - a potential European spot.

Newcastle's honesty and endeavour has been there, as Palace's has. But both teams have lacked that bit of quality in the final third, especially Newcastle.

It could have gone either way. It was two well-matched teams and Newcastle had the best chances. I think Palace played some nice football and got their reward with the penalty.

They're safe now, and I think Newcastle only need a point or two then they'll be safe too.

Palace are having to cling on a bit here. A corner is whipped into Salomon Rondon at the near post and there's appeals for a handball when he flicks it on.

Quickly waved away by the referee.
