    Scotland v Brazil (19:00)

Scotland are on a run of three games without defeat, Friday's draw with fellow World Cup finalists Chile coming after wins over Denmark and Iceland.

That followed a run of four straight defeats for Shelley Kerr's side.

  5. Kerr vows to attackpublished at 18:57 British Summer Time 8 April 2019

    Scotland v Brazil (19:00)

Scotland head coach Shelley Kerr has been telling BBC Scotland that playing Brazil in a friendly gives her the chance to test her side's ability to go on the offensive against a higher-ranked side.

"Often, when you play teams higher ranked, the focus is very much on structured defence," she said.

"For us to get better - and that's why we've taken these games, to play against the very best players and teams in the world - we're going to have a game plan to attack."

  6. Marta, pride of Brazilpublished at 18:53 British Summer Time 8 April 2019

    Scotland v Brazil (19:00)

Brazil's most well-known player is Marta, who remains the top scorer in World Cup finals history with 15 goals.

Despite now being 33, she remains the focus of the side and her goal in Friday's 2-1 defeat by Spain was her 110th in 133 international appearances.

Having helped teams to titles in Denmark, Brazil, United States and Sweden, she now plays for Orlando Pride, who finished seventh in last year's National Women's Soccer League.

The world player of the year five times between 2006 and 2010, and who won the Fifa award again last year, is listed in Brazil's squad as a midfielder these days, though if the Brazil line-up graphic is anything to go by she may well be in her traditional striker role tonight.

  7. South America's bestpublished at 18:50 British Summer Time 8 April 2019

    Scotland v Brazil (19:00)

Despite Brazil having lost their last eight internationals, tonight's game should be a step up in class for Shelley Kerr's world-ranked 20 side.

Having drawn 1-1 with a Chile outfit rated 39 in Fifa's standings on Friday, they next face a side 29 places above.

Brazil topped the final South American qualifying group, five points ahead of second-placed Chile, who they defeated 3-1 almost exactly a year ago in Paraguay.

The Female Canaries also had earlier topped their first-stage qualifying group, while Chile finished second in theirs behind Colombia.

  8. Vadao's second spell loses magicpublished at 18:47 British Summer Time 8 April 2019

    Scotland v Brazil (19:00)

Vadao is in his second stint as Brazil coach, having had a short, fifth spell in charge of men's lower-league outfit Guarani in his homeland before returning to his national job in 2017.

Among the 62-year-old's many clubs are the famous Corinthians, while he led Tokyo Verdy to Japanese Super Cup success in 2005.

Since the start of 2017, Brazil have won 15, drawn two and lost 14, including their last eight in a row!

  9. Spanish reign over Brazilpublished at 18:44 British Summer Time 8 April 2019

    Spain 2-1 Brazil

Brazil's poor recent run continued on Friday as they lost 2-1 to hosts Spain, who sit three places behind them at 13th in the world rankings, at Estádio Municipal Vicente Sanz in Don Benito.

That was despite Vadao's side taking the lead after 31 minutes through star player Marta, who headed in a Joyce cross for her 110th international goal.

But Spanish pressure told 17 minutes after the break when Alexia Putellas finished from a Jennifer Hermoso cross to equalise and, six minutes later, Virginia Torrecilla applied the finish after a free-kick was deflected into her path.

Kirsty Smith and Lisa Evans drop to the bench, while Fiona Brown is out of the squad altogether.

  13. Good eveningpublished at 18:29 British Summer Time 8 April 2019

    Scotland v Brazil (19:00)

Welcome to this evening's coverage of Scotland against Brazil, as Shelley Kerr's side finish their friendly double-header in the south of Spain.

They drew 1-1 with Chile on Friday, a disappointing result really considering the number of chances Scotland had.

Tonight they face a much tougher proposition in Brazil, who are ranked 10th in the world - 10 places above Scotland.
