  5. 'I don’t think they’ll need much picking up'published at 14:45

    FT: Rangers 2-0 Celtic

Does Neil Lennon change things ahead of the Scottish Cup final against Hearts on 25 May?

"I don’t think they’ll need much picking up," he told Sky Sports. "They’ll know they have a huge cup final looming in two weeks time and there may be places up for grabs, so that should be motivation enough for them."

And has Lennon learned anything about his team from today's defeat?

"Yeah, of course you do. You learn about their character and their personality. But we’ve got a good group in there and they’ve let themselves down today."

  6. 'Celtic performance unacceptable' - Lennonpublished at 14:40

    FT: Rangers 2-0 Celtic

Celtic manager Neil Lennon on Sky Sports: "The better team won. We lacked energy and we looked tired today. I don’t know if it’s mental or physical fatigue. We weren’t at the races today. We got beaten and deservedly so.

"I told the boys what’s expected of them. We were looking for a reaction even at half-time and didn’t get one, so they’ve got to have a look at themselves today.

Neil Lennon: "Rangers wanted it more today"

"That performance was unacceptable. Even though they’ve been brilliant for a long period of time. It just seemed like Rangers wanted it more today than we did. I think that’s the biggest criticism we can aim at the players."

  7. 'We need to get ready for next season' - Gerrardpublished at 14:30

    FT: Rangers 2-0 Celtic

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard also tells Sky Sports that he has held talks with chairman Dave King in the last few days.

"Everything is okay, everything is fine. I'm satisfied with what I've heard. We've analysed the season together, it was very positive," says Gerrard.

"The end of the season has come at a bad time for us because we're in a great place and in good shape.

"But it's important we rest, physically and mentally, and get ready for next season.

"We need next season to be big. Everyone's got to be part of that."

"We know what we need to do. We have to show respect [to Celtic] as that's what football's all about.

"But today is about Rangers: simple."
