  1. 'The perfect start for Rangers'published at 12:04

    Rangers 1-0 Celtic

    Jim Duffy
    BBC Sportsound summariser

"He does what you ask him to do: puts pace and a whip on it and aims for the back post. If someone gets a touch then fine, but nobody gets a touch and it falls inside the back post. The perfect start for Rangers."

    James Tavernier

Hang onto your hats, we have a goal already! Ryan Kent is fouled about 30 yards from goal wide on the left. Rangers skipper James Tavernier whips in the subsequent free-kick and speeds beyond every head before nestling into the far corner as Celtic's Scott Bain looks on helplessly.

The home fans jubilant; wild-eyed dismay in Celtic ranks. Game. On.

  4. 'I can see an open game here'published at 11:58

    Rangers 0-0 Celtic

    Billy Dodds
    Former Scotland striker on Sportsound

"It's a pressure-free game for Rangers and Celtic. Which is why I think there will be goals today. I wouldn't be surprised if this game ends 2-2. I know it's an Old Firm and there's still that intensity but I can see an open game here."

Both sides come out of the tunnel and out onto a sun-kissed Ibrox pitch. Perfect conditions for a derby; what better way to wake a sleepy Sunday from its slumber?

  6. 'When Rangers needed to find form they didn't find it'published at 11:55

    Rangers v Celtic (12:00)

    Tom English
    BBC Scotland's chief sports writer

"Rangers have been in fine form. The one thing I would say about that is that they found form when the league was effectively over. When they needed to find form they didn't find it."

  7. 'High octane' derby - Lennonpublished at 11:53

    Rangers v Celtic (12:00)

Celtic manager Neil Lennon, speaking to Sky Sports, "expects a high octane game with a lot of quality on both sides".

    Tom English
    BBC Scotland's chief sports writer

"Celtic have done enough. We've poured over the Neil Lennon Celtic, that have just been getting by. They still have the capacity to up it when they really need to. Even without James Forrest."

  10. 'Focus is on us' - Gerrardpublished at 11:44

    Rangers v Celtic (12:00)

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard tells Sky Sports that Celtic's formation "could swing to a back five or back three. It's important we work that out early. But the focus has to be on us".

Gerrard says he is seeking hunger and desire from Rangers this afternoon. On Wes Foderingham coming in for the suspended Allan McGregor, Gerrard says the keeper has prepared well.

  11. 'Defoe merits starting role'published at 11:42

    Rangers v Celtic (12:00)

    Billy Dodds
    Former Scotland striker on Sportsound

"I think it's a case of Jermain Defoe meriting it [his place in Rangers' starting XI]. Even if he was thinking of Alfredo Morelos, the striker hasn't done well in this fixture. He's not scored against Celtic yet. So that would factor in to it.

  12. Defoe has hit the ground running...published at 11:41

    Rangers v Celtic (12:00)

Steven Gerrard has opted for Jermain Defoe over Alfredo Morelos and when we consider the stats it's not too difficult to imagine why.

James Forrest netted an 86th minute winner when the sides last met in March. Odsonne Edouard fired the hosts in front at Celtic Park before Ryan Kent equalised.

Alfredo Morelos saw red before Forrest's late strike and an ill-tempered end to proceedings also saw Andy Halliday receive his marching orders.

  20. Morelos on the benchpublished at 11:21

    Rangers v Celtic (12:00)

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard sticks with the starting line-up that defeated Hibernian 1-0 at Ibrox last weekend - apart from the one forced change.

Allan McGregor's kick-out at Marc McNulty resulted in a red card and a suspension that sees a rare start for Wes Foderingham.

The 28-year-old Englishman last played in a 5-0 thumping of Kilmarnock at Ibrox in February.

It also means that Alfredo Morelos has to make do with a place on the bench on his return from suspension, with in-form veterain Jermain Defoe, on loan from Bournemouth, being preferred up front.
