Jordan Pickford appears to take one for the team, deflecting Troy Deeney's shot from close range away with his face after the Watford skipper went one on one with him. Great work from Etienne Capoue and Gerard Deulofeu in the build-up.

Digne then makes up for his error, diving in to powerfully head the low free kick away from danger.

Digne has been excellent today, but a poor tackle on Will Hughes gives Watford a free kick chance from near the touchline level with the area.

Pickford has to be alert to a heavy-footed backpass from Richarlison, of all people, and the keeper does well to sidefoot it away towards halfway.

What was I saying? Everton's left has been a good outlet, and Bernard and Lucas Digne combine well with Digne's low cross needing to be cleared by Craig Cathcart inside the area.

The hosts are very much on the back foot at the moment, they've barely left their own half but, that said, Jordan Pickford has not had a save to make since the resumption.

Jose Holebas sends an early Watford corner skimming over the Everton area. Gerard Deulofeu and Roberto Pereyra combine well to keep the ball, and Watford keep the pressure on with two more in quick succession.

Everton get us under way again, no changes from either side as yet.

Watford have improved as the half has progressed, and are unlucky given Dawson's header that hit the woodwork - possibly deflected by Pickford's fingertips.

Everton started well, and should have doubled their lead but Richarlison fluffed his lines with an off-target header.

Troy Deeney essays a shot that ricochets away, and is then in the referee's ear when claiming handball against Michael Keane seconds later.

Within seconds Watford have a free kick at the other end, and Etienne Capoue, racing into the back post area, is just short of a touch that would surely have seen Watford equalize!

Ohhhhhhh, Richarlison!

Gylfi Sigurdsson chips the free kick in, and the ex-Watford striker, with the freedom of Goodison near the penalty spot, heads a golden chance yards over the bar!

Capoue clatters Bernard - he's on a yellow, remember - but there's no second card from Lee Mason. Everton have a free kick 25 yards out...

Gerard Deulofeu and Yerry Mina tangle in the area and the Watford player claims a penalty - again, Mr Mason gives nothing, and after a VAR check the game carries on.

Will Hughes wins a free kick near the corner of the Everton box, which Holebas swings in. For a moment it looks threatening, but it flies too high and too far in front of his own players and Jordan Pickford waves it past his post.

Gerard Deulofeu has been the only bright light for the Hornets so far, and he tries to sneak into the area after a decent run, but he's cut out by a pincer effort from the home defence.

Etienne Capoue treads on the right foot of Richarlison and is booked. Referee's notebooks could be printed with his name already in - he had 14 yellows last season.

Everton go back and forth across the Watford area until Lucas Digne has a weak volley that bounces up into Foster's clutches.
