    Mikey Johnston

    Wow! What a strike!

A valuable away goal for Celtic after a sloppy start as Mikey Johnston spins away from a tackle and then absolutely hammers in a shot from 22 yards.

There's not much to the skinny 20-year-old but that strike packed some punch.

Nobody went and attacked the ball and it was lashed in to the net. Celtic just not defending or doing their jobs properly. It's the nightmare start.

  5. goal

GOAL FK Sarajevo 1-0 Celticpublished at 28 mins

    Mirko Oremus

Jozo Simunovic misjudges a simple defensive header and the hosts have their third corner.

It's dropped into the six yard box, bounces around a bit, and then Mirko Oremus slides in to slam it home from close range.

    FK Sarajevo 0-0 Celtic

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

It's like a pre-season game. Both teams happy to pass the ball around and not exert themselves too much. Maybe the humidity has got something to do with that.

  7. Postpublished at 19 mins

    FK Sarajevo 0-0 Celtic

It's just not sticking for Celtic up front, with striker Odsonne Edouard crowded out any time the ball comes his way.

  8. 'Celtic fortunate to be level'published at 19:02 British Summer Time 9 July 2019

    FK Sarajevo 0-0 Celtic

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland in Sarajevo

It is already clear that Celtic are in for a stern test. This Sarajevo side are countering at pace and look threatening every time they come forward.

That's got the crowd going. The noise is intimidating and unrelenting from underneath the considerable mass of umbrellas around the stadium, in utterly horrible conditions.

Celtic need to get on the ball and keep it to take the sting out of proceedings.

  9. Postpublished at 15 mins

    FK Sarajevo 0-0 Celtic

A bit of a lull as Celtic take a breather with a long sequence of possession in the middle of the park. The home side are not budging though, content to protect their own penalty box in numbers.

  10. Tricky under footpublished at 10 mins

    FK Sarajevo 0-0 Celtic

It's a bit like an old episode of It's A Knockout, with players toppling and tumbling on the greasy surface all over the place.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 8 mins

    FK Sarajevo 0-0 Celtic

Darko Lazic upends Ryan Christie with a rash sliding challenge and gets a flying boot in the face for his trouble. To add to his woes, there's a yellow card waiting for him as he eventually gets back to his feet.

  12. Celtic almost caught outpublished at 7 mins

    FK Sarajevo 0-0 Celtic

The home side are camped inside their own half. It looks like they are planning to play on the counter.

Right on cue, Hebibovic is haring up the middle in acres of space and Scott Bain needs to race to the edge of his penalty box to make a vital block.

  13. KICK-OFFpublished at 18:49 British Summer Time 9 July 2019

    FK Sarajevo 0-0 Celtic

Actually, this one started about three minutes ago... Celtic on the front foot in the early stages.

While the pitch in Gibraltar was sticky and dry, this one is absolutely sodden with all of the rain. It's cutting up and a few players are slipping and sliding.

  14. FULL-TIME St Joseph's 0-4 Rangerspublished at 90+3 mins

Easy. Rangers have one foot firmly in the next round of Europa League qualifying.

There were signs of rust in the first half but the second 45 minutes was a stroll for Steven Gerrard's men.

  16. Testing evening ahead for Celtic?published at 18:42 British Summer Time 9 July 2019

    FK Sarajevo v Celtic (18:45)

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland in Sarajevo

This has to be one of Celtic’s more treacherous opening Champions League qualifying fixtures.

They face the champions of Bosnia & Herzegovina and while on paper it should seem reasonably straightforward, it is likely to be a stiff test if Celtic don’t start well.

The locals seem enthused at the prospect of this tie and a big noisy crowd awaits, albeit numbers may have been hit slightly by an incredible turnaround in conditions.

From searing heat early afternoon, to torrential downpours for the past few hours. That should suit Neil Lennon’s men.

Bolingoli starts after signing last week with a Mikey Johnston also getting a run. It’s July 9th and already the pressure is on Celtic to deliver.

Rangers are keeping the tempo up and Joe Aribo gets a big cheer for a showboating turn away from two bedraggled opponents.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 79 mins

    St Joseph's 0-4 Rangers

The loan signing of Sheyi Ojo is already looking like a great bit of business for Rangers. The Liverpool winger has been the game's outstanding player and he nearly has a second goal as his powerful shot has the busy St Joseph's keeper staggering after getting hands to it.

  19. goal

GOAL St Joseph's 0-4 Rangerspublished at 76 mins

    Alfredo Morelos

James Tavernier whips in a great cross and goalkeeper Mateo Vera is almost in the back of the net when he bats out a header from Alfredo Morelos.

The ball is well over the line, so we'll gloss over the fact Connor Goldson somehow hit the bar from a yard out on the follow up...

    St Joseph's 0-3 Rangers

After the hosts make a couple of changes, Rangers make their last substitution with Greg Stewart on for Jordan Jones for his competitive debut.
