    Bristol City 0-0 Leeds

Leeds - who have Patrick Bamford on his own up front - have seen most of the ball so far.

Bristol City have got former Chelsea man Kasey Palmer playing as a 10, but pressing up alongside striker Famara Diedhiou at times.

    Bristol City 0-0 Leeds

Leeds are playing in their new platinum-coloured away kit (that's grey, to you and me) with pink numbers and logos.

I'd say there's a little bit of a visual clash there between that pink and Bristol City's red home shirts, depending on the angle you're looking from, but the officials must have been satisfied with it.

  3. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    Bristol City 0-0 Leeds

After both teams gather for huddles, Leeds' Patrick Bamford gets the game going.

This summer Leeds have recruited Wolves winger Helder Costa and Brighton centre-back Ben White, both on loan, as well as sealing another loan for midfielder Jack Harrison from Man City after he impressed last term.

Young winger Liam McCarron was also purchased on a three-year deal from Carlisle.

But leaving the club were players including Sweden centre-back Pontus Jansson - who joined Brentford - and new Burnley keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell, as well as Samuel Saiz.

Meanwhile, winger Jack Clarke signed for Spurs for a fee understood to be in the region of £10m, but he was loaned straight back to Marcelo Bielsa's team.

This transfer window has seen Bristol City sell defenders Adam Webster and Lloyd Kelly for a combined sum of over £30m, to Brighton and Bournemouth respectively, while goalkeeper Frank Fielding joined Millwall on a free transfer.

Coming the other way, Chelsea's Tomas Kalas, Kasey Palmer and Jay Dasilva all made their loan moves to the Robins from last season into more permament deals, for a reported total of about £13m, while keeper Daniel Bentley arrived from Brentford for an undisclosed fee.

But the majority of the money received for the sales of Webster and Kelly is yet to be spent and Lee Johnson's men have been linked with big moves before Thursday's transfer deadline, including Saturday's reports in the French media that they have agreed an 8m euro fee for young Monaco midfielder Han-Noah Massengo.

The first Saturday of the Championship season saw Fulham and Cardiff both beaten in their first games since relegation from the Premier League.

Barnsley saw off Scott Parker's Whites, while Wigan came from behind to beat Neil Warnock's Bluebirds.

Elsewhere in the second tier there were impressive victories for newly-promoted Charlton, managerless Sheffield Wednesday and West Bromwich Albion, who enjoyed a winning start to life under Slaven Bilic.

  14. A new season, but the same dreamspublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 4 August 2019

Bristol City v Leeds (16:30 BST)

It doesn't feel long ago that Leeds moved three points clear of Sheffield United on 13 April, seemingly on course for automatic promotion.

But back-to-back Easter weekend defeats saw that margin reversed as Leeds lost three and drew one of their final four games, before being stunned by Derby in the play-offs, as their top-flight dreams were dashed for another year.

It was a painful end to 2018-19, but the Elland Road faithful 'go again' this season and Marcelo Bielsa's side have been labelled as pre-season favourites for promotion this term.

As for Bristol City, they finished just four points off the play-off places in eighth, after a crucial home loss to Derby on the penultimate weekend. The Robins are hoping this can be their year for at least a top-six finish.
