  3. Bellingham breaks Francis' recordpublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 6 August 2019

    Portsmouth v Birmingham (19:45 BST)

This is likely to be a night to remember for Birmingham's Jude Bellingham, who sets a new club record as their youngest player.

At 16 years and 38 days old, the talented forward breaks the Blues' long-held record set by Trevor Francis way back in 1970.

Francis went on to become the sport's first £1m transfer and lift the European Cup with Nottingham Forest, before managing Birmingham and taking them to the 2001 League Cup final. No pressure then, Jude!

Birmingham make nine changes from the side that won at Brentford on Saturday and give four players their first-team debuts.

Defenders Geraldo Bajrami and Jake Clarke-Salter - who is on loan from Chelsea - both start at the back, along with Spanish midfielder Agus Medina and 16-year-old Jude Bellingham, who becomes the youngest player ever to feature in a competitive game for the club. More on that in a moment.

Birmingham XI: Stockdale, Dacres-Cogley, Harding, Bajrami, Clarke-Salter, Seddon, C Gardner, Medina, Bellingham, Lakin, Crowley.

Subs: Trueman, Redmond, Bailey, O'Keeffe, Boyd-Munce, Burke, Stirk.

Andy Cannon, Ben Close and Ellis Harrison all start, while Ross McCrorie is suspended, Gareth Evans drops to the bench and John Marquis doesn't play because his partner has gone in to labour.

Pompey XI: MacGillivray, Walkes, Downing, Burgess, Brown, Close, Naylor, Curtis, Cannon, Harness, Harrison.

Subs: Bass, Raggett, Haunstrup, Evans, Maloney, Pitman, Hawkins.

Good evening! You must have heard there's a Carabao Cup game on. Yes, it's the biggest EFL Cup game of the night.

In fact, it's the only one, as Portsmouth and Birmingham - for reasons that presumably only the most organised of fixture schedulers truly understand - get their League Cup campaigns under way a week before everyone else.

Fratton Park is the venue, a good tie is our desire, and this page is the place for you to follow live text coverage of the match. Welcome aboard...
