I was expecting a lot more from Cardiff this afternoon.

For the first 15 minutes, they looked in control and calm.

But the two goals from George Puscas, the keeper had no chance of saving those.

But they're two very disappointing goals to concede from a Cardiff point of view.

Phillipa: So as things stand, the bottom three of the Championship are:

Middlesbrough

Huddersfield

Stoke

What a bottom three! Don't think anyone would have put those three down the bottom of Championship after three games (as things stand).

Huddersfield became the first Championship side to part company with their manager this season when they sacked Jan Siewert after losing to Fulham on Friday.

Reading have got better since the first George Puscas goal, but Cardiff had just shaded them before that in the first 25 minutes.

In my opinion, Reading thoroughly deserve a 2-0 lead.

Ovie Ejaria has also been breathtaking in that first half. He pops up and has little tricks from time to time.

There goes the whistle and that first half was all about one man...

George Puscas with two fine goals to put Reading into a 2-0.

Cardiff look flat and devoid of ideas...

Pretty laid back end to this first half.

Cardiff seem content to get in at the break 2-0 down....

Junior Hoilett back on his feet after some treatment.

Play goes on and Joe Ralls is booked now for some poor persistent challenging in the centre circle on John Swift.

Three goals in three games now for George Puscas in a Reading shirt.

He scored in the EFL Cup in midweek as well at Wycombe. A new fans favourite for sure.

Meanwhile, Reading captain Liam Moore is booked for a late challenge on Junior Hoilett on the halfway line.

Cardiff goalkeeper Alex Smithies nearly makes a mess of a low cross from John Swift that bundles off his arms and almost into the feet of the waiting George Puscas.

Proving a bit of a handful for Cardiff at the back.

Time for a bit of soapbox moan from me - I don't like this new goal kick law where you're allowed one defender inside the box.

What's that all about? Just slows play down from what I can tell and so far quite tellingly, neither side has opted to use it and play out from the back, they've gone old school instead and direct up to halfway.

Keeper had no chance, what a finish, what a goal!

Reading buoyed by that Puscas goal and full of confidence now.

Lucas Joao enjoying being the link man up top as Reading try and go direct to him from a goal kick.

Joao tries to make space for a shot on the edge of the area, but doesn't fully catch it with his left foot.

Great goal that - looks like £8 million well spent by Reading on the Inter Milan striker before the transfer deadline.

What have Cardiff got as a response?

Marlon Pack's game is over after that.

Looked like a twinge of his hamstring potentially.

He makes way for Curtis Nelson, which means Cardiff may well have added numbers to their defence.

Bit of concern here for Cardiff City and Marlon Pack.

He's down getting some treatment after a run through midfield. Hopefully nothing too serious for the former Bristol City man.

Couple of shouts for a penalty for Reading as Lucas Joao tangles with Aden Flint, absolutely nothing doing on both counts.

Game crying out for some quality.
