  1. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Reading 0-0 Cardiff City

Nice move from Reading from front to back as Ovie Ejaria and Lucas Joao combine and try and play George Puscas in.

Good bit of last-ditch defending from former Royals defender Sean Morrison hooks it away from the striker's path just in time.

    Reading 0-0 Cardiff City

First test for Reading goalkeeper Rafael who's down low to his left to save a shot from Joe Ralls from outside the box.

Cardiff starting to come into this game.

  3. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Reading 0-0 Cardiff City

Poor free-kick from John Swift after that Bacuna booking as he tried to swing it across from the left.

Leandro Bacuna with a rather interesting colour of dye in his hair - I'm going for crimson there.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 8 mins

    Reading 0-0 Cardiff City

Early booking for former Reading man Leandro Bacuna as he brings down left-back Omar Richards late.

Home crowd quite enjoyed that seeing their former player cautioned.

  5. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Reading 0-0 Cardiff City

George Puscas has a half-sight of goal for Reading as he tries to get down the right channel.

But his rather tame effort skews wide left of goal for the hosts.

  6. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Reading 0-0 Cardiff City

Fairly sedate start to this one but there's a short pause as Joe Bennett goes down on the touchline after trying to win the ball in he air with Reading's Andy Yiadom.

Nothing much going on there and he's back on his feet in short time.

  8. Minute's silencepublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

The action will start shortly, but we're pausing for a minute's silence in recognition of PC Andrew Harper.

The Thames Valley Police officer died earlier this week while on duty a short distance away in west Berkshire.

Many of his colleagues are also at the game to observe the tribute.

  13. Beware the big names on Reading's teamsheet!published at 11:51 British Summer Time 18 August 2019

Reading v Cardiff City (12:00 BST)

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock certainly won't be taking Reading lightly despite the fact the Royals have lost both their opening Championship games.

There's two of the biggest names in footballing history in their squad this season (kind of...)

    Media caption,

'Reading have got Puskas and Pele haven't they?'

Reading boss Jose Gomes has made four changes from their 2-1 Championship defeat by Hull City last weekend.

A tactical switch at the back sees Michael Morrison come in as one of three centre-backs for midfielder Andy Rinomhota while forwards Lucas Boye and Yakou Meite are replaced by George Puscas and Ovie Ejaria.

There's also a change in goal where Rafael replaces Joao Virginia.

Cardiff also make four changes from their win against Luton.

Lee Peltier makes way for former Reading player Leandro Bacuna at right-back, Will Vaulks comes in for Gavin Whyte in midfield while Junior Hoilett replaces Josh Murphy and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing replaces Callum Paterson.

Reading XI: Rafael; Morrison, Miazga, Moore (c); Yiadom, Richards, Ejaria, Pele, Swift, Puscas, Joao.

Subs: Virginia, McIntyre, Rinomhota, Barrett, Adam, Boye, Meite.

Cardiff XI: Smithies, Bacuna, Bennett, Flint, Morrison (c), Ralls, Vaulks, Pack, Hoilett, Mendez-Laing, Glatzel.

Subs: Day, Nelson, Whyte, Murphy, Bogle, Paterson, Vassell.

Isaac Vassell certainly made an impact on his Cardiff City debut last weekend, coming off the bench to score a late winner at home against Luton Town.

Will his midas touch continue in Berkshire this afternoon?

Another player who seems to have settled into his new surroundings nicely is George Puscas.

The Romania striker swapped the prospect of matches at the San Siro with Inter Milan this season for the Madejski Stadium, but got off the mark for his new club in midweek against Wycombe Wanderers in the EFL Cup.

Can he find the back of the net again on his home debut?
