Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo: "We face the reality and the reality says we are not performing well, so we have to analyse it and find solutions in the team to improve.

"This is what we have to do, we have to come strong [today], we must react immediately."

Robert Hextall: In the late 80s I played as keeper in a friendly at uni on astro turf. Being used to muddy grass pitches, I misjudged a harmless incoming ball and my perfect positioning turned into a ludicrous star jump as the ball bounced way over my head and into the empty net.

Paul Lewis: Volleyed a ball into my own thumb and shattered the bone in three places. Ref called handball and I spent next 3 months with 4 pins screwed in my thumb to put it all back together.

  4. 'Solskjaer preaching values'published at 13:48 British Summer Time 22 September 2019

West Ham v Man Utd (14:00 BST)

    Jonathan Pearce
BBC Match of the Day commentator

I'm not one to always big up old-fashioned values but I am delighted that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is preaching the ethics demanded of Old Trafford players during the Busby-Ferguson eras.

Teenager Mason Greenwood is the latest to come through knowing what it really means to be a Manchester United player. The pressures. The expectation. The joy. Those values can help rebuild the club into a title-winning force. It's a long road. There'll be pot holes along the way and this could be one.

West Ham, driven by the work ethic of another good club man, Mark Noble, ended their hoodoo against the Red Devils last season and are on a solid run.

Their signings look promising. They can win this. Manchester United fans may question the present but the future looks brighter.

Crystal Palace got taken apart at Tottenham last time out but I am expecting to see a reaction from them here. Wolves will just have to ride this rough patch out.

West Ham v Man Utd (14:00 BST)

    West Ham United

West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini: "Manchester United played on Thursday night [in the Europa League] but they changed nine players so it will be a different team.

"We are in a good moment so, if we are playing against the big teams, we must show we can play in the same way."

West Ham v Man Utd (14:00 BST)

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: "Last time [April's 2-1 home win over West Ham] we were lucky to beat them and it will be a good test. But we have had two clean sheets in a row now and that will give the defenders confidence.

"If we can keep a clean sheet it will be easier for our strikers, who will know we don't have to score twos, threes and fours all the time."

  8. 'Goals in short supply'published at 13:39 British Summer Time 22 September 2019

Crystal Palace v Wolves (14:00 BST)

    Tony Husband

Europe is dominating the news headlines at the moment and it will be a subject of much debate if you're a Wolves fan too. Thursday's opening Europa League group stage match was their 12th game of what is feeling like a long season already at Molineux.

Europe has been both a blessing and a curse so far for Nuno Espirito Santo's team. They've won six games in the early rounds, including an impressive victory at Serie A side Torino, which somewhat masks their failure to win in the top flight.

At Crystal Palace they'll find a home team who will be eager to erase memories of their walloping last week. Goals have been in short supply at Selhurst Park this season and I expect it may only take the odd goal to decide this one.

Apparently Mason Greenwood has tonsillitis which explains why he isn't in the squad today. A real shame - he was surely being considered for a start following his performance mid-week.

    Chelsea v Liverpool (16:30 BST)

Chelsea's Mason Mount faces a fitness test on the ankle sprain he suffered in their midweek Champions League loss.

N'Golo Kante is in contention after returning to training but Emerson Palmieri is once again doubtful.

Divock Origi is unlikely to play, according to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, due to his ongoing ankle injury.

Naby Keita is back in full training, while keeper Alisson and Nathaniel Clyne both remain out but are also stepping up their recoveries.

So no Mason Greenwood. There were rumours this morning that he had not traveled with the Manchester United squad so it's not a complete surprise.

Surely he's picked up an injury? Fellow youngsters Axel Tuanzebe, Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes all make the bench though. Will they get a run out today?
