    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

Moussa Sissoko is really putting in a shift at right-back - Serge Aurier owes him one - and he races back to shackle Nathan Redmond with a sliding tackle for a corner.

The ball is eventually looped back in but Hugo Lloris dives forward to smother it.

  2. 'Southampton's tactical change is going to help'published at 16:10 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

    Alan Pardew
Former Southampton and West Ham manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

Southampton need to come out with the same attitude as they had in the first half. They have made a tactical change and gone four at the back and I think that is going to help them contain Son Heung-min more than they did in the first. There have been chances at both ends and you know it's not going to finish with this scoreline.

We'll hold you to that, Alan...

  3. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

Harry Kane is away and clear, loping into the Saints box with Christian Eriksen begging for the ball in the middle - but Kane delays and is snaffled out.

With 10 men, they surely won't get many chances - will that come back to haunt Spurs?

  4. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

Saints try to make their advantage work early on, Ryan Bertrand nutmegging Moussa Sissoko to get into the box, but his pull-back eludes everyone and Spurs can clear.

And we are off again, no changes from either side. Moussa Sissoko went to right back before the break, and he stays there for the resumption.

And that is the last action before the whistle. There's a few boos for referee Graham Scott following that Serge Aurier dismissal, and now everyone can breathe again after a real head-scratcher of a half.

  9. Postpublished at 45+2 mins

    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

Danny Ings charges in on Lloris as the ball flies back to the keeper, and yet again you can hear breaths being drawn before he hoofs clear.

  10. Postpublished at 45+2 mins

    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

Hugo Lloris chests a stray pass down to himself before opting for a safe clearance, to cheers that you can stick in the file marked "ironic".

    Neil Johnston
BBC Sport at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

    This is a ridiculous game.

Harry Kane puts 10-man Spurs back in front thanks to an assist by Christian Eriksen after Hugo Lloris gifted Southampton an equaliser.

    Nothing to see here...

  12. INJURY TIMEpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

Three minutes to come after a breathless spell at either end.

GOAL - Harry Kanepublished at 43 mins

    Spurs 2-1 Southampton

    Brilliant, brilliant stuff from Spurs!

Harry Kane starts the move just inside his own half, and after a superb exchange between him, Son Heung-Min and Christian Eriksen the England captain tees the ball up for himself inside the area before firing in a shot that bounces past Angus Gunn.

What a response after that horror show from Lloris!

GOAL - Danny Ingspublished at 39 mins

    Spurs 1-1 Southampton

An all-time howler from Hugo Lloris!

The keeper casually collects a pass just a yard in front of the goal line, but he dithers, mis-controls, the ball rolls under his foot and under pressure from Danny Ings it crawls across the line in slow motion!

A 10 minutes to forget for Spurs fans...

  15. CLOSE!published at 36 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Southampton

    Wow!

Harry Kane gets the ball a yard inside the Saints half and, seeing Angus Gun off his line, tries an audacious chip that dips down towards the goal......but not enough and it goes just over!

  16. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Southampton

How will Mauricio Pochettino play this one now? Danny Ings hasn't had a sniff so far, and he fails to get to a ball over the top towards him.

  17. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Southampton

Aurier clips Ryan Bertrand near the left touch line and sees yellow again four minutes after his first to get his marching orders.

Spurs are incensed as they feel there wasn't much contact, and they claim the ball went out of play just a few seconds before - but referee Scott is unmoved, and the hosts are down to 10 men!

  18. RED CARD - Serge Aurierpublished at 31 mins

  19. Postpublished at 29 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Southampton

That's NDombele's second goal since his record move from Lyon in the summer, and he looks for a third but a wild shot only threatens the corner flag.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 27 mins

    Spurs 1-0 Southampton

Oooof! Serge Aurier is the first booking for Graham Scott, clattering Sofiane Boufal from behind near the touch line. There's a quick technology check to see if it should have been more than a yellow, but we carry on with 11 v 11.
