    Tottenham 0-0 Southampton

And we're off, with Spurs getting the match under way.

  15. Postpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    Tottenham v Southampton (15:00 BST)

Right, the teams are out on the pitch, the managers have exchanged friendly greetings and we're all set!

  16. Lawro's predictionpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    Tottenham v Southampton (15:00 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson

I think Tottenham will be back with a bang this week, because they are a long way off being in crisis.

They should be too strong for Southampton. A comfortable win would go a long way to solving Spurs' problems.

    Prediction: 3-0

  17. 'No room for sentiment'published at 14:56 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    Tottenham v Southampton (15:00 BST)

    Neil Johnston

Mauricio Pochettino has used his programme notes to urge calm after a poor run of form.

"As always, when we experience disappointing moments, we know the key is to remain calm in our minds and focussed," says the Spurs boss after back-to-back defeats to Leicester and, in the Carabao Cup, Colchester.

"As a group we have been through these situations before and I am sure we will navigate our way through this spell too."

With German champions Bayern Munich in town on Tuesday in the Champions League, Spurs need to respond with a positive result against Pochettino's old club Southampton.

"Southampton is a club I know well and admire following my time there, however today there is no room for sentiment," adds Pochettino.

  18. 'Spurs like a wounded boxer'published at 14:53 British Summer Time 28 September 2019

    Tottenham v Southampton (15:00 BST)

    Mark Scott
    Match of the Day commentator

The suspicion things aren't quite right at Tottenham was pretty much confirmed by Mauricio Pochettino himself this week, when he said he needs time to "rebuild togetherness in the squad" after their shock League Cup exit to Colchester.

In contrast to Spurs, Southampton had a great night in the cup during midweek, with Ralph Hasenhuttl calling their derby win at Portsmouth "unforgettable", but while they come into this one on a high, he's warned Tottenham will be like a wounded boxer and expects them to come out swinging.

If the Saints can make it five away wins in a row that could really leave Spurs on the ropes.
