UK Phil: Half-time and the @Lionesses, external continue to be sloppy, as they were before, during and since the W.W.C. Too many trusted 'BIG' names are not performing. Maybe time to look at fresh, young faces NOT from top WSL teams!

Alan Spencer: I don't agree with the comments about players being rusty as it's pre season and then in the next breath hearing that the WSL starts Saturday. These players should be well into pre-season games, training, ready to go

The goal was stunning. That was exactly how we want to watch football and that is why we don't worry about England when they attack.

England are slow to close down and get in Norway's face, Can they stop the cross?

The transition from defence to attack is where England are breaking down and losing the ball.

How to describe it? It is just a lack of precision really and we are causing our own pressure in possession. It is only through Norway's incompetence that they are not level. There were Norwegian players in the box unmarked.

‘What an unbelievable finish’ – Stanway stunner gives England lead

Going forwards England have shown moments of real quality but they are sloppy defensively, and given the ball away far too easily.

The goal is unbelievable. We see her do this for Manchester City on a regular basis. Steph Hougthon's pass forwards is so impresive, she took three players out of the game.

    The strike is perfect.

Karina Saevik does a Zidane style pirouette turn, and then puts in a miscued cross that almost turns into a shot, but Carly Telford reacts well to get across and push it over the top!

Stanway is everywhere - popping up on the right now and putting in a cross but it's well cut out.

A slightly sharper Jodie Taylor - or a World Cup Ellen White - may have had a couple in this half. Phil Neville will be pleased overall but there's still areas of sloppiness.

And another sight of goal for Jodie Taylor! Again, the ball just gets away from her and the veteran keeper Ingrid Hjelmseth is able to sweep it away.

Great vision from Georgia Stanway though. Played her in a treat.

That all comes from a really poor clearance from Norway and that has been the tale of both boxes really - neither team able to clear their lines.

  16. CLOSE!published at 35 mins

    Norway 0-1 England

Chance! England work a free-kick from the right, which is never really under control from either side and pinballs around the edge of the area. Millie Bright lashes in a left-footed shot which is never going in but finds Jodie Taylor, middle of the goal.

A better touch and she'd have a tap-in. But the ball gets away from her.

I don't think she knew where that was going to be honest. It was bending back in.

The centre-halves have to get out and affect that shot a lot quicker.

  18. CLOSE!published at 32 mins

Lovely running from Caroline Hansen before Rachel Daly flies in and takes out Amalie Eikeland with a tasty challenge.

Norway come down the left and Guro Reiten curls a beauty...just wide!

Carly Telford was a passenger to that one.

Georgia Stanway has another dig from the edge of the box, her body shape is never quite set as she hits it off balance, it flies wide but almost turns into a cross and finds Toni Duggan sliding in.

    She's the bright spark though.
