Good work by Alex Smithies to pounce on a loose ball as Jack Marriott goes hunting for it in the Cardiff box.

Scott Malone's cross from the left took a deflection and was tricky for a moment but Smithies on to it in a flash to prevent Marriott picking up on the scraps.

Frustration continues for Derby as the game gets a bit patchy.

Krystian Bielik and Gavin Whyte collide in a 50/50 on the edge of Derby's box and the referee stops play for Whyte to get treatment just as the Rams looked like mounting a counter-attack.

Richard Keogh not short of a word or two.

    Well, that's an eventful start.

Derby are still fuming that they didn't get a penalty of their own for a foul on Martyn Waghorn, but there could be few complaints for how Richard Keogh brought Robert Glatzel down.

Phillip Cocu looks very frustrated by how his side have thrown away their early lead.

    And we're level!

It's a first Cardiff City goal for Robert Glatzel as he tucks the penalty kick away past Kelle Roos.

Lovely strike away to Roos' dive to the left and I think Glatzel enjoyed that.

Derby think they should have a penalty here.

Was there a hint of handball in the build-up to that Derby goal?

Couple of television replays suggest that Martyn Waghorn may have used his right arm to help him bring the ball under control as it pinged around the box before Scott Malone tucked it home.

Meanwhile, Cardiff show some promise at the other end until Robert Glatzel is caught offside in the area.

A surge forward from Josh Murphy down Cardiff's left comes to a halt on the edge of the Derby area Richard Keogh makes an important block.

That could be a key battle as this game develops and Cardiff search for a leveller.
