GOAL: Derby 1-0 Lutonpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

Matty Pearson own goal (11 mins)

Out of nothing and after an uneventful start, Derby have the lead against Luton and it's a shocker for the visitors.

Matty Pearson puts the ball into his own net and Phillip Cocu's side are in front at Pride Park.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:10 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    Swansea 1-0 Stoke

It's so nearly two for Swansea!

Borja Baston finds some space and hits a fierce strike that Stoke keeper Adam Federici does well to keep out.

    All Swansea so far.

  3. Postpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    Huddersfield 0-0 Hull

Early effort on goal for Hull as Jarrod Bowen gets a shot away but it's not troubling Huddersfield keeper Kamil Grabara.

The home side have made a good start though and are dominating things looking threatening down the right hand side.

  4. Postpublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    West Brom 0-0 Cardiff

Cardiff have started brightly at The Hawthorns and had the first real chance of the game in the early stages in the Black Country.

Sean Morrison's header towards goal is blocked before Aden Flint attempts a shot from a tight angle but it's sails away.

    Swansea 1-0 Stoke City

    Michael Pearlman
BBC Sport Wales at the Liberty Stadium

What a nightmare start for Stoke, if it can go wrong it probably will and they already trail in the lashing rain in South Wales.

The goal was horrific from a Potters perspective, their defence melting away as Yan Dhanda's shot was spilled by Adam Federici to present Andre Ayew a tap-in.

And it's been all Swansea since then.

  6. Postpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    Millwall 0-0 Leeds

Big chance for the hosts at The Den to take the lead as Mahlon Romeo works into some space and finds a shot.

However Leeds keeper Kiko Casilla is on hand to save at the near post. Swansea's early goal puts Marcelo Bielsa's side under some pressure if they are to regain top spot this evening.

  7. goal

GOAL: Swansea 1-0 Stokepublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    Andre Ayew (1 mins)

Stoke's season just gets worse with every game doesn't it.

Andre Ayew pounces on a loose ball in the area and opens the scoring for the Championship leaders.

This could be a very long day for the visitors.

League Two's early pace-setters Exeter and Crewe meet at Gresty Road in the fourth tier's game of the day.

Exeter still top the division despute suffering their first loss in 14 games last week when they went down 3-1 at home to Grimsby.

The Alex, who are only behind City on goal difference, have won seven of their last 10 league games.

Should the top two draw Cheltenham, Forest Green, Swindon or Newport could all go above them with victories.

Fleetwood Town v Ipswich Town (15:00 BST)

    Paul LambertImage source, Rex Features

Ipswich Town have never faced Fleetwood Town before, but their meeting at Highbury could have a big impact at the top end of League One.

The Tractor Boys are making a good fist of their first season in the third tier since 1957, when what was Fleetwood FC were in the Lancashire Combination.

Ipswich are to points clear at the top with third-placed Fleetwood two more points behind - Joey Bartion's side's home record of four wins and one draw is identical to Ipswich's form on the road, so expect it to be a tight affair.

With Bolton not playing until Monday night, when they host Blackpool, there is a chance for the sides at the bottom of the table to extend their advantage.

    • Accrington Stanley v Oxford United
    • AFC Wimbledon v Rochdale
    • Doncaster Rovers v Portsmouth
    • Fleetwood Town v Ipswich Town
    • Gillingham v Southend United
    • Lincoln City v Sunderland
    • Milton Keynes Dons v Burton Albion
    • Rotherham United v Coventry City
    • Tranmere Rovers v Shrewsbury Town

  12. Robins in fine formpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

Bristol City v Reading (15:00 BST)

    Lee JohnsonImage source, Rex Features

Bristol City salvaged a late draw at Brentford in midweek to extend their unbeaten run to eight league matches.

The Robins have not tasted defeat since the opening day reverse at home to Leeds, but have drawn half of their opening 10 games.

Still, that run has left Lee Johnson's side on the brink of the play-off places.

Reading endured that sinking feeling on Tuesday once more, as they were beaten 4-1 by Fulham at the Madejski Stadium.

One mitigating factor was that the Royals had John Swift sent off after 20 minutes - but they have now lost four of their past five Championship games, drawing the other.

That defeat, along with Barnsley's draw against Derby and Huddersfield's win at Stoke, means Jose Gomes' side are just two points above the bottom three and within touching distance of the Tykes and Terriers.

  13. QPR want to get back on trackpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    QPR v Blackburn (15:00 BST)

    Mark WarburtonImage source, Rex Features

QPR slumped to a second straight defeat in midweek, suffering a somewhat galling 3-0 loss at Cardiff despite having 72 percent of possession on the night.

But the R's had won four consecutive matches before that, which means they are within touching distance of the play-offs.

Mark Warburton's men could do with shoring up their defence on their return to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium - Rangers are one of only two Championship teams yet to keep a clean sheet this season, alongside Luton.

Blackburn endured a frustrating couple of games at home last week.

First came the 2-1 defeat by promoted Luton Town and then Rovers were pegged back by Nottingham Forest and drew, having taken the lead through Adam Armstrong.

Perhaps a road trip will benefit Tony Mowbray's men, who won at Reading the last time they ventured away from Ewood Park.

  14. Forest dreaming of top flight returnpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

Nottm Forest v Brentford (15:00 BST)

    Sabri LamouchiImage source, Rex Features

Nottingham Forest made it nine games without defeat as they fought back from a goal down to draw 1-1 at Blackburn on Tuesday.

Joe Lolley's goal means the Tricky Trees have not lost in the Championship since their opening day defeat to West Brom.

Sabri Lamouchi's side are in the play-off places, and fans will be dreaming of ending their exile from the Premier League, which will be in its 21st year next summer.

Brentford were denied back-to-back wins by Bristol City in midweek when they let in an 87th-minute equaliser.

The Bees have started to find their form following a sluggish start, and have lost just one of their past five.

The west London outfit have won on four of their past five league trips to Nottingham Forest, although lost their most recent visit in February.

  15. Tykes aim to end away day bluespublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    Preston v Barnsley (15:00 BST)

    Cauley WoodrowImage source, Rex Features

Preston are another team on a solid unbeaten run, having stretched their record to seven matches without defeat with a draw at Middlesbrough on Tuesday.

But Alex Neil will have been frustrated by the fact the Lilywhites conceded less than 120 second after taking a first-half lead through Josh Harrop.

Still, that result kept North End in the final play-off place almost a quarter of the way into the season.

Barnsley are the only side in the Championship still yet to score away from home this season,

The Tykes have gone to Sheffield Wednesday, Birmingham, Wigan and Nottingham Forest and drawn a blank on each occasion - picking up a solitary point for their troubles.

But after Cauley Woodrow's injury-time strike earned them a 2-2 draw with Derby County their tails could be up.

  16. Can Owls bounce back after first Monk loss?published at 14:43 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

Sheff Wed v Wigan (15:00 BST)

    Garry MonkImage source, Getty Images

Garry Monk suffered his first league defeat since his appointment as Sheffield Wednesday boss when the Owls lost 1-0 at Hull on Tuesday.

Without the in-form Steven Fletcher, who has four goals in five Championship games, Wednesday lacked cutting edge in front of goal.

That defeat ended a three-game unbeaten run and left the Hillsborough outfit two points off the play-offs.

Wigan picked up their third win of the campaign in midweek, with Anthony Pilkington's goal - helped by an error from keeper Lee Camp - being enough to beat Birmingham.

However, the Latics have only picked up one point from a possible 15 on the road this season.

  17. Cowley gets Terriers back on trackpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    Huddersfield v Hull (15:00 BST)

    Danny CowleyImage source, Rex Features

Huddersfield Town recorded just their second win in 2019 in midweek, as they won 1-0 at fellow strugglers Stoke City thanks to Juninho Bacuna's late goal.

That ended a run of 20 games without a win in all competitions, as Danny Cowley registered his first victory since taking charge.

The Terriers are now unbeaten in two games - but have not avoided defeat in three games since November 2018.

Tom Eaves' second half strike was enough for Hull to secure a 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday.

The Tigers are now unbeaten in five Championship games, although they have drawn five of those matches.

  18. Warnock's winning runpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

West Brom v Cardiff (15:00 BST)

    Neil WarnockImage source, Rex Features

West Brom saw their unbeaten start to the Championship campaign come to an end at Leeds United in midweek.

The Baggies fell behind towards the end of the first half, but largely dominated the second period as the Elland Road side came under increasing pressure.

Slaven Bilic's men could not find the breakthrough though, which saw them slip off the top of the table.

Cardiff City made it seven without defeat as they beat QPR 3-0 on Wednesday, despite having on 28 percent off the ball.

Neil Warnock knows everything there is to know about mounting a promotion campaign, having gone up a record eight times over the course of his career in England.

The 70-year-old has not lost on his past five league visits to West Brom (W3 D2) since a 2-1 defeat in January 2001 as Sheffield United manager.

  19. Cocu yet to get tune out of Ramspublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    Derby v Luton (15:00 BST)

    Phillip CocuImage source, Rex Features

Derby County were beaten play-off finalists last season and their shaky start to the campaign continued on Wednesday.

The Rams looked to be heading for victory at Barnsley - which would have given them back-to-back wins - but then conceded a 94th-minute equaliser.

Phillip Cocu's side are unbeaten in four, but have also only won once in nine league games.

The Dutchman has issues to deal with off the field too, yet is not worried about the reception Tom Lawrence and Mason Bennett may receive at Pride Park.

The pair were charged with drink-driving after a car crash in Derby's Allestree area on 24 September, but could feature against Luton.

Wales midfielder Lawrence, 25, and forward Bennett, 23, both returned against Barnsley at Oakwell..

"I hope that our fans will support the whole team," Cocu told BBC Radio Derby.

Luton have won just one of their past four, but the Hatters are five points clear of the bottom three having won promotion fro League One last season.

  20. New era begins for Millwallpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    Millwall v Leeds (15:00 BST)

Millwall coach Adam Barrett on the sidelinesImage source, Rex Features

It is the start of a new period for Millwall after long-serving manager Neil Harris stepped down as manager on Thursday.

The 42-year-old had been in charge since March 2015 but has said that leaving The Den was "the right decision at the right time - not only for the club, but for me and my family also".

Adam Barrett has been placed in caretaker charge of the Lions, whose winless run was extended to seven league games after they drew 1-1 at Luton on Wednesday.

Leeds United make the journey to south-east London after holding on to overcome West Brom 1-0 on Tuesday.

Marcelo Bielsa's men returned to the top of the Championship table with those three points at Elland Road, which came courtesy of Ezgjan Alioski's first-half strike.

But the Whites have not enjoyed their trips to The Den in recent years, and are five without a win at the atmospheric ground.

Their last win at Millwall came in March 2012, when Ross McCormack scored the only goal of the game.
