    Celtic 0-0 Cluj

Cluj get the game in a rainy Glasgow under way.

Can the Romanians make it two victories in quick succession at Celtic Park, or can Neil Lennon's side reek revenge for that Champions League qualifying loss?

  3. Contrasting fortunespublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 3 October 2019

    Celtic v Cluj (20:00)

Celtic lost their 100% domestic record on Saturday when drawing 1-1 away to Hibs but have only lost one of their 18 games this season - at home to Cluj in the Champions League qualifiers.

The Scottish Premiership leaders have since won five consecutive home games.

After that victory in Glasgow, the Romanian champions have had an inconsistent run, winning four - none away from home - and losing five of their next 10 games.

They were knocked out of the Romanian Cup last Wednesday by second-tier Botosani on penalties after a 2-2 draw, coach Petrescu having played a second-string side.

However, they went two points clear at the top of Liga I by beating Gaz Metan Medias 3-0 on Sunday.

  6. Can Celtic win revenge?published at 19:55 British Summer Time 3 October 2019

    Celtic v Cluj (20:00)

As we turn attention to Celtic Park, remember that this is a re-match after the sides met in the qualifying rounds of this season's Champions League, with the Romanians progressing 5-4 on aggregate.

Cluj won 4-3 at Celtic Park in the second leg of their Champions League qualifier in August courtesy of a 97th-minute winner from George Tucudean.

Celtic have won just three of their last 16 home European group matches, losing their last two against Red Bull Salzburg and Valencia in the Europa League last season.

Cluj are looking to win consecutive games in major European competition for only the second time - they also won back-to-back games in December 2012 in the Champions League, beating Braga and Manchester United.

  10. FULL-TIME Young Boys 2-1 Rangerspublished at 19:46 British Summer Time 3 October 2019

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard will be wondering how that happened.

His side took a deserved lead through Alfredo Morelos.

But two second-half goals give Young Boys victory.

Both were preventable and, so often Rangers' top performer, captain James Tavernier was at fault for both as Roger Assale and Christian Fassnacht pounced to score for the Swiss champions.

  17. Omrani and Traore recover for Clujpublished at 19:37 British Summer Time 3 October 2019

    Celtic v Cluj (20:00)

As we enter the closing stages in Switzerland, we will soon be turning our attention to Celtic Park.

Cluj head coach Dan Petrescu has made no less than seven changes after their 3-0 win over Gaz Metan on Sunday.

Billel Omrani, who scored twice in Cluj's 4-3 win in Glasgow, arrived in Scotland insisting he is fit despite reports in Romania that he could be an injury doubt and does indeed start.

He was substituted in stoppage time on Sunday after himself having come on as a second-half replacement for fellow forward Lacina Traore. Traore, who was also a reported as an injury doubt, has also made the starting line-up.
