Birmingham City fans have been used to swinging from one extreme to another this season, having drawn just one game - the fewest in the Championship.

It's been 13 games since the Blues were involved in a stalemate, and a Fulham side who have won just one of their past five travel to St Andrew's this afternoon.

The Whites, tipped for an immediate return to the Premier League, head into the game in eighth, two points off the play-offs.

Wigan Athletic start the day three points above the relegation zone and have lost to Derby and Swansea in a three-match winless run.

Their visitors Brentford had their upward momentum checked last time out by Huddersfield.

The Bees had won three in a row before defeat by the Terriers at Griffin Park, and are in 13th, four points off the top six.

  10. Derby clash in south-east Londonpublished at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

    Millwall v Charlton (15:00 GMT)

The Den is sold-out for a south-east London derby between Millwall and Charlton Athletic.

The Lions return home following a 2-1 defeat at Reading last time out in Gary Rowett's second game in charge.

Millwall have had the upper hand over their local rivals in recent years, and are unbeaten in 10 meetings between the club stretching back to 2009.

A 19-year-old midfielder by the name of Lee Bowyer was on the scoresheet the last time the Addicks came out on top against Millwall in March 1996.

Over 23 years on Bowyer is now in charge of Charlton, who are three without a win - having been beaten 1-0 by Preston at The Valley on Sunday.

The Addicks have only won one of their past six, and are now three points off the play-offs.

  11. Resurgent Reading entertain slipping Hatterspublished at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

    Reading v Luton (15:00 GMT)

Reading and Luton Town sit just above the relegation zone but have been on different trajectories in recent weeks.

The Royals are unbeaten in three games since Mark Bowen succeeded Jose Gomes as manager - winning two of those matches.

Those results have lifted the Berkshire club from 22nd to 19th and three points ahead of the bottom three.

Promoted Luton, meanwhile, have been slipping into trouble.

Defeat at home by Nottingham Forest last weekend consigned the Hatters to a third consecutive defeat.

With just one win in six, Graeme Jones' side started the day one place and two points above Middlesbrough, who are 22nd.

  12. Goal-shy Boro on downward spiralpublished at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

    QPR v Middlesbrough (15:00 GMT)

This season has been a fairly rotten one for Middlesbrough fans.

After finishing fifth and seventh in the past two campaigns, Boro have struggled since the appointment of former player Jonathan Woodgate as manager this summer.

The Teessiders have won just twice in 2019-20 and come into this game on the back of an eight-match winless run which has left them two points from safety.

Boro have also failed to score in their past four games, in a goal drought which stretches to 363 minutes.

But there is a glimmer of hope, with the fact that today's hosts Queens Park Rangers have not kept a clean sheet in 21 matches in all competitions.

The west Londoners have suffered back-to-back defeats in a run of three matches without tasting victory.

Yet the R's are two points off the top six and the joint third-highest goalscorers in the division, with 24 goals from 15 games.

  14. Owls boss Monk driven by ambitionpublished at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

Sheff Wed v Swansea (15:00 GMT)

As for Garry Monk, he is still hungry to get back to the Premier League.

The 40-year-old led Swansea to eighth place in 2014-15 before being sacked in December 2015.

Monk has told BBC Sport Wales that there would be "nothing greater" than managing Wednesday in the top flight.

The Owls have been away from the Premier League since relegation in 1999-2000.

  15. Monk welcomes former club Swanseapublished at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

Sheff Wed v Swansea (15:00 GMT)

Two clubs in the thick of the play-off hunt meet at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday suffered their first defeat in five games when they were on the end of a late comeback from Blackburn at Ewood Park last Saturday.

Owls boss Garry Monk comes up against one of his former clubs this afternoon, with Swansea City - who he managed in the Premier League - the visitors.

The Swans are fifth in the table, two points behind leaders West Brom, having won eight of their first 15 games of the season.

But their new boss Steve Cooper says it is "way too early" to talk of his side as promotion candidates.

The Welsh side have won their past two games and are the only side in the Championship still unbeaten on the road this season.

  16. Whites on the march as Blackburn visitpublished at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

    Leeds v Blackburn (15:00 GMT)

Leeds United achieved a landmark of sorts last Saturday, when they managed to score two goals at home for the first time this season.

That gave them victory over QPR and a third straight win at Elland Road.

The Whites have scored just seven goals in as many Championship outings on home soil.

Marcelo Bielsa and company sit third, and unbeaten in four, as they welcome Blackburn Rovers.

Rovers recorded a first win in seven last Saturday as the Ewood Park outfit came from 1-0 down to beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1.

Tony Mowbray's men struck in the 88th and 91st minutes to turn that match around - proof that it isn't over til it's over.

  17. Terriers target high-flying Lilywhitespublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

    Preston v Huddersfield (15:00 GMT)

Preston North End moved into the automatic promotion places on Sunday courtesy of a 1-0 win at Charlton.

Alex Neil has restated his commitment to the Lilywhites, having been the subject of an approach from Stoke City - who eventually found a new manager elsewhere.

North End have won back-to-back games in a three-match unbeaten run.

Huddersfield Town are top of the Championship's form table, with the Terriers now seven games without defeat.

Danny Cowley's men have taken 15 points from a possible 21, which has lifted them out of the bottom three and up to 18th, four points clear of the relegation zone.

Hull City owner Assem Allam arrives at the KCOM Stadium with familyImage source, PA Media

There is a rare sight at the KCOM Stadium today as Hull City owner Assem Allam has chosen to attend his first home game for more than four years.

A recent improvement in the relationship between the club hierarchy and fans will have something to do with it.

He has certainly picked a cracker to come out for as in-form Hull host league leaders West Brom.

  19. Baggies face test at in-form Tigerspublished at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

Hull v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

Championship leaders West Bromwich Albion have a two-point lead at the top of the table heading into their trip to Hull.

The Baggies have lost just once in the league this season, with their sole defeat coming at Leeds United on 1 October.

But Albion have bounced back, winning three of their past five but dropping points in draws against Barnsley and Charlton.

Today they travel to an in-form Hull City side who have won their past three matches.

The Tigers beat Nottingham Forest and Derby before a 3-0 win at Fulham last Saturday put them three points off the play-off places.

  20. O'Neill drops in for basement battle at Oakwellpublished at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

    Barnsley v Stoke (15:00 GMT)

    Michael O'NeillImage source, Stoke City

Two struggling clubs clash at Oakwell in what is already close to a relegation six-pointer.

Barnsley, in 23rd place, are five points from safety and welcome bottom club Stoke City.

The Tykes are 14 league games without a win - their worst run of form since 1959 - although they have drawn three of their past four under caretaker Adam Murray.

Stoke City have a new man in the dugout for the trip to South Yorkshire.

Michael O'Neill joined the Potters yesterday - although he will remain in charge of Northern Ireland for their final two Euro 2020 qualifiers, and any possible play-off matches.

Stoke sacked Nathan Jones on 1 November and, after being unsuccessful in their attempts to appoint Preston boss Alex Neil, lost 2-0 at home to West Brom on Monday.

With the Potters looking to avoid a fourth straight defeat, 50-year-old O'Neill has a job on his hands as he looks to stop the club dropping into the third tier for the first time since 2001-02.
