At the bottom, Middlesbrough pull off a massive result to move out of the bottom three.

Their first win since September ended a 10-match winless run.

The Teessiders beat bottom club Barnsley and it's looking rather grim for the Tykes, who have not won since the opening day of the season and are now eight points from safety.

    How it stands

Here is what tonight's results have done to the top of the second tier.

West Brom reclaim top spot after Leeds leapfrogged them last night.

The Baggies now have a seven-point cushion to third place, which is rather decent work by the end of November.

    Charlie Austin (87 mins)

Game over now at The Hawthorns.

A sweeping cross comes in from the right and Charlie Austin diverts it goalwards.

It comes off his thigh but Daniel Bentley can only claw it onto the post.

The rebound falls straight back to Austin, who controls and then turns it into an unguarded net.

Replays show he might have been narrowly offside when the cross came in. West Brom won't care.

    QPR 0-4 Nottm Forest

A sorry night ends for QPR as, after going down to 10 men five minutes into the second half, they concede three goals in the final 10 minutes.

Forest are up to fourth in the table, only behind third-placed Fulham on goals scored.

The Reds have a game in hand on everyone else in the top six as well.

GOAL: West Brom 3-1 Bristol Citypublished at 21:41 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2019

    Hal Robson-Kanu (82 mins)

Or, West Brom will just go up the other end and score.

Bristol City look to pass the ball out from the back but give it away.

Matty Phillips advances down the right and then puts in cross which Hal Robson-Kanu turns in.

That should snuff out any hopes the visitors have of a late comeback.

    Hull 4-0 Preston

A brilliant performance from Hull. A night to forget for Preston.

GOAL: West Brom 2-1 Bristol Citypublished at 21:39 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2019

    Famara Diedhiou (80 mins)

The Baggies had weathered a storm at the start of the second half, but now the visitors are back in the game.

A corner causes all kinds of problems on the edge of the Albion six yard box.

After a bit of a scramble and some jostling, Famara Diedhiou turns and crashes the ball in.

He retrieves it from the net to get the game restarted. It could be a grandstand finish.

    Sheff Wed 1-1 Birmingham

Wednesday can't find a late winner in the face of fierce resistance from Birmingham.

A point doesn't do either side many favours.

The Owls are five without a win and now Birmingham are winless in four.

Will the two managers now share a handshake and a post-match drink? Don't bet on it.

  15. goal

GOAL: QPR 0-4 Nottm Forestpublished at 21:37 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2019

    Alfa Semedo (90+1 mins)

Just when you didn't think it could get worse for QPR, it does.

Keeper Joe Lumley fails to hold a strike from Matty Cash, and Sammy Ameobi is on hand to tap the ball across to Alfa Semedo for a tap-in.

QPR appeal for offside against Ameobi but the officials are having none of it, and Forest celebrate in front of the travelling fans.

This one is a solo effort from Joao Carvalho.

Picking up the ball on the right flank, he advances into the area, nutmegs a covering defender and tehn finishes with the outside of the right boot past R's keeper Joe Lumley.

It's a sorry night for the hosts, but Forest are recording a third win in four in style.

A big chance for the hosts late on.
