    This was the scene around 20 minutes before kick-off, but blocks of seats have been filling up a lot since then. With a capacity of 62,062, this is the largest ground to ever host a Women's Super League game, narrowly eclipsing the Emirates, which hosted Arsenal v Chelsea back in 2012. The lower two tiers will be packed come kick-off.

    Liverpool Women "deserve to experience" the atmosphere at Anfield which can be "on another level to any stadium in the country," according to their manager Vicky Jepson.

    The Reds host Everton in a Merseyside derby this afternoon looking for their first win of the WSL season and Anfield, with a capacity of 54,074, hosts its first match in the competition.

    Everton boss Willie Kirk is equally excited by the occasion.

    "We have acknowledged as a group that this is a big game," he said. "We will try and use that excitement to give us energy on the day.

    "We know it's not just another game. It's a big occasion and the eyes of the football world are going to be watching us, hopefully."

    I spotted former Liverpool keeper and ex-Reds Women's interim manager Chris Kirkland outside Anfield earlier.

    He said he visited the squad on Friday and they are all really excited to have the opportunity to play at Anfield.

    "Hopefully they can turn the form around with a big win," he added.

    "It will be a tough game. Everton are a tough team. The manager came in last season and it looks like he is getting his footprint into the team. This will be extremely tough."
