    Liverpool 2-1 Brighton

    Liverpool

More from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on Alisson's sending off: "I think it was handball but I haven't seen it. There was no offside and then it is a tricky situation.

"He wanted 100% to head the ball but the other player got there earlier so we can't change that. Virgil [van Dijk] was probably man of the match with the two goals but Adrian is for me - to come in to a game like this and make two saves.

"Even the goal-kicks are difficult with cold feet! We were not prepared for that situation so I am completely happy."

On Brighton's goal: "I think in a situation like this, when you have sense for human beings, you don't do it like this.

"It was very clever from Brighton but the keeper has just come on and is trying to set the wall. They are trying to get used to each other and the referee lets it go like this. We cannot change it but for me it's not 100% right.

On Liverpool's 11-point advantage: "It's how it is. But if Leicester win tomorrow we are eight points. We don't think about these things. It was just to win this game. We have one more day between now and the next game so we have to use that and then we try again."

  2. It's unbelievable how much they want to win - Klopppublished at 17:18 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Liverpool 2-1 Brighton

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Match of the Day: "It was unnecessary [for the game to be nervy at the end], of course, because we had unbelievable chances. Their keeper made some good saves.

"It was difficult this game because Brighton are a good football side. They put players between the lines. They put so many players there so it's difficult to defend. They had a lot of possession and we had to work really hard. I loved that the boys were prepared to do that after a busy week.

"We then had the red card for Alisson. Adrian comes in with cold feet and cold hands but made two really good saves. The boys threw everything on the pitch. It's unbelievable how much they want to win. They made it a really special win."

  3. We weren't clinical enough - Jorginhopublished at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Chelsea 0-1 West Ham

    Chelsea

Chelsea captain Jorginho: "I think we were not clinical, we need to be more clinical when we create the chances. We weren't and then we conceded. Then it is difficult."

On whether the Chelsea players were tired after playing Manchester City and Valencia in a busy week: "Maybe, but we created some chances but didn't score. That's the problem."

  4. 'Conceding from two long balls killed us'published at 17:13 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Tottenham 3-2 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe speaking to Match of the Day: 'We felt it was a close game all the way through, I think we played ok today but the disappointing thing is to concede two goals from long balls, that killed us.

'We should have delt with them better, these are not the type of goals you expect to concede coming here.

'Harry Wilson is a goalscorer, and we had other moments during the game, it is just a shame we were coming back from 3-0 down. In this league if you’re not quite were you need to be you can get punished.

"My dad didn't say much - I think we were both in tears! For my dad to play for the club for 21 years and see it, and for me to make my debut, keep clean sheet and get win for the boys, it is so pleasing.

On his pre-match nerves: "I was struggling to eat for two days, Cressa [Aaron Cresswell] was laughing at me because my plate was taken away because I couldn't eat my food."

On whether he will keep his place: "I hope I've given myself a good chance but have to work hard and keep grounded."

    Burnley 0-2 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace goalscorer Jeffrey Schlupp speaking to Match of the Day: "It’s a massive result. We have come to a difficult place, and the win is massive. It was a bit edgy and they put us under a lot of pressure.

"I came on and managed to kill the game off. When you come away to Burnley you know they are in good form but we had a game plan. We took our chances and scored the goals. It’s the Premier League and we look forward. We should collect some points going forward."

So there we have it. Liverpool are 11 points clear of Manchester City and Leicester City at the top.

Leicester play Everton at home tomorrow of course (16:30 GMT).

But as some of you have also pointed out, by reaching the 40-point mark, Liverpool have probably avoided relegation after just 14 games!!

  14. 'You have to give them credit'published at 16:59 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2019

    Liverpool 2-1 Brighton

    Liverpool

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk speaking to PLP: "They [Brighton] are a good side. They play football and take risks. It's not easy. We should have gone better than we did in the second half but you have to give them credit as well. Unfortunately we got that red card with Alisson then we just had to defend."

On his two goals: "Obviously I am one of the main targets for attacking set-pieces. It is not easy because I get marked normally by the best defensive header of the ball."

On Alisson's red card: "We should have done better. We put him in that situatuion but it is what it is. We have to deal with it. It is a disappointment but we go again."

On the Brighton goal: "No idea. I am in the wall. I was busy with the wall. I have no idea. The referee gave it and we had to deal with it. It's a pity but we got the three points."

On build-up of fixtures: "We played a few days ago so energy is always a little bit less than usual if you have a full week to prepare but we have to deal with it and manage the game a little bit better. We could have done that better today but we won and that's the most important thing."
