  1. 'A tough day'published at 17:27 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2019

Tottenham 5-0 Burnley speaking to MOTD

    Burnley

Burnley boss Sean Dyche talking to MOTD: "We have given the ball away five times at the start and we can't do that. It is unlike us to be so open and to give the ball away in so many bad areas. It was a tough day.

"We had lots of the ball, couldn't open them up. We are depleted and missing some very big players.

"We have proven before we can make these games hard and we have to get back to that."

Tom: Not too bad starting XI for Manchester United, but I'm sure there is a better player of the 'no.10' position than the one lining up.

Andy: Jesse Lingard back in team, So that's a win for City.

He did play in Manchester United's win against Tottenham on Wednesday Andy.

City have got the big guns out tonight... Noel Gallagher and Johnny Marr are pitch-side and having a good old chinwag... Noel just gave Kyle Walker a high-five as he walked off after the warm-up too.

I'm sure there are some famous Man Utd fans here too, although I've not seen any yet. Don't worry, though, as soon as I spot Mick Hucknall, I'll let you know.

  4. 'A perfect day'published at 17:23 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2019

    Tottenham 5-0 Burnley

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho, speaking to BBC Sport: "A perfect day. No injuries, a clean sheet, goals, perfect football, kids coming on for first Premier League football. Sean Dyche is always honest band told me after the game we were too good for them. I thank him for that. They are difficult to play against but we were too good. It wasn't them that were bad.

"Finally the boys get a day off tomorrow that I'be not been able to give them yet.

"Son's is a temendous goal. Harry's two outside the box and the pass for the Moussa goal. A couple of better passes or choices we could have had more.

"I remember when I was at Barcelona with Mr Robson and Ronaldo Nazario scored a goal that is similar to Son's. And this was an amazing goal. I know that he is going to reach the face of the keeper and the control he is unstoppable. The keeper is good, though, but he managed to put it in."

  5. Solskjaer chasing a first derby winpublished at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2019

Man City v Man Utd (17:30 GMT)

    PepImage source, BBC Sport

City boss Pep Guardiola writes in his programme notes how United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has played in "many of these Manchester clashes", but the Norwegian actually featured in fewer derbies than you might think.

Solskjaer referred to that when he aimed a little dig at City on Friday, saying ‘at least we play every year now’ but his record when he did finally face the Blues is not exactly impressive.

The Norwegian has never played a part winning side as a United player or manager, losing twice and drawing twice in the only four derbies he was picked or fit for out of a possible 13 between 2000 and 2007 (following City’s return to the top-flight).

As United’s manager, he has faced City once - at Old Trafford in April. City won that one too.

  6. 'You can change the manager 100 times'published at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2019

    FT: Watford 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Watford

Watford defender Christian Kabasele said: "The spirit was fantastic today but we did not create enough chances to score. When you see our position in the league it is a shame. In our situation, we need to work every day at the training ground and we are looking forward [to meeting Nigel Pearson].

"It is not easy to change a manager three times in a season, but we have to be responsible. You can change the manager 100 times bu if the players do not do the job we will never get out of the relegation zone."

    Liverpool

    Bournemouth 0-3 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to Sky Sports: "It is not about being constantly exciting it is about doing the right stuff. There were not a lot of difficult moments to defend and that is good, important. Nearly a perfect day.

"I don't want to blame or whatever the groups I had before but this is a special group. Without that we have no chance to fulfill the Liverpool dreams. You need a strong character and this team has a strong character."

There’s an iconic derby image on the front of today’s programme - and it is especially unforgettable for Shaun Goater and Gary Neville.

That cut-out sketch of the Goat is from the last derby to be played at Maine Road, in November 2002. As Neville would no doubt be able to tell you himself, it shows Goater firing home City’s second goal in a famous 3-1 win… seconds after stealing the ball from the United defender as he attempted to shepherd it behind for a goal-kick.

Goater went on to score City's third goal too - his 100th for the club - to seal his side’s first win over United since they beat them 5-1 in September 1989.

  10. 'Clean sheet - finally!'published at 17:10 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2019

    Bournemouth 0-3 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to MOTD: "It was a professional performance, controlled, scoring wonderful goals. We didn't want to make it exciting again so we wanted to control Bournemouth.

"The most used word in the dressing room at the moment is clean sheet - finally!

"Dejan Lovren was hopefully cramp but apart from that it was a perfect game. All round nearly perfect day."

On Henderson's superb ball for Liverpool's first: "In football you have to break lines, that is how it is. With these ball you can break all the lines and it makes it difficult to defend.

"Wonderful second goal and the third was similar to Shaqiri's the other week.

"This was a strong, strong, strong performance. So mature and so clear in all things."

"We try with all we have. There will be moments especially between the games where we have to switch the machine off and then switch it on again and be there. We have only three days and play Red Bull Salzburg in an all or nothing game."

  11. 'The lads that have come in have been outstanding'published at 17:05 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2019

    Bournemouth 0-3 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a professional performance. We created chances. I thought we played really well today and I think it is very difficult for any team we play when we play well.

"We work every single day, not only the people that play a lot of games. The intensity in training is always high. The lads that have come in have been outstanding.

"We just need to keep it going. We just want to continue put in performance like we have been doing."

Ps. While the interview was happening, Jose Mourinho was shouting in the background for Son to be given man of the match.

  13. 'In these moments the next win seems a long way away'published at 17:03 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2019

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, speaking to MOTD: "I don't like to use injuries as an excuse but there comes a time when you have to look at the situation and the teams we are playing. We lost another two players today. It is what it is.

"The squad is stretched. It is there to cope with the injuries but the difficulty for us is we are getting injuries but not getting players back.

"The mentality of the group is strong but damaged in confidence. We can always do better. We can always question ourselves and say we could have done better today but the quality of the opposition was very strong.

"When you are in these moments the next win seems a long way away but we can't stay in these moments, the next win could be the next game."

Can you get over this loss? "We have to, we have no choice otherwise our Premier League status is in massive danger."

  14. 'We are getting kicked when we are down'published at 16:59 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2019

    Bournemouth 0-3 Liverpool

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, speaking to Sky Sports about Nathan Ake's injury: "It is difficult to know. At that moment in the game we were OK. The goal coincided straight away with Nathan Ake going off. It affected us maybe mentally and we never really recovered.

"In the difficult moments you need the mentality the most. we have to be very resolute and shut out the noise. We are getting kicked when we are down with the injuries we got today and we have behind the scenes.

"We need that lift from somewhere but the trouble is no-one gives it to you are this level. Feeling sorry for yourselves doesn't help, we can't have that emotion."

"All he wants to do is work hard and play for the team. He has great quality and works hard for the team.

"All round it was a top performance.

"Whenever you play bad in a big game like the Manchester United [which they lost 2-1] game you cant wait for the next game and for the whistle to start.

"You saw that today, we pressed quickly and took our chance."

  16. City's strong squadpublished at 16:56 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2019

Man City v Man Utd (17:30GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Pep Guardiola made the point yesterday that Manchester City have been better than United in his three and a bit years in the north-west.

A look at the team sheets emphasises why.

On the respective benches, City have five internationals amongst their outfield substitues. Phil Foden is the odd man out.

For United, the number is two. And Juan Mata and Ashley Young are no longer chosen for Spain or England.

  17. 'They were miles ahead today'published at 16:54 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2019

    Bournemouth 0-3 Liverpool

Liverpool have been absolutely superb from the first minute to the last minute. they work so hard for each other when they do not have the ball.

[Virgil] Van Dijk has been a colossus at the back for them and they have so much quality.

They were miles ahead of Bournemouth today. Technically they were outstanding.

  18. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2019

    Watford 0-0 Crystal Palace

The game didn't deserve a winner.

Small steps for Watford, though. This is their first clean sheet since October.

  19. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2019

    Tottenham 5-0 Burnley

Doesn't get much more emphatic than that.

Burnley brushed aside as Mourinho's side march on.

Check out Son's goal if you've not already done so. Special.

  20. Postpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2019

    Watford 0-0 Crystal Palace

Yep, it was a clean save from Guaita. A brilliant one in fact. He was out in a flash to deny Sarr, who had charged into the box to try and latch on to Gray's pass.
