It's another poo free-kick in by Luka Milivojevic but Watford clear their lines and Ismaila Sarr is off.

He plays a nice ball to Andre Gray, but his finish lacks the power and Vicente Guaita dives on the ball.

Wilfried Zaha has endured a difficult afternoon but this time he wins a free-kick after he is hauled down by Kiko Femenia.

The free-kick on the edge of the area is delivered by Luka Milivojevic but it's headed away.

Ismaila Sarr goes close once again after Andre Gray's ball through, but his nemesis from a moment ago Gary Cahill dives into to divert the ball behind.

That was the chance.

Watford spring clear on the counter attack but the ball through to Gerard Deulofeu sends the forward wide.

He clips the ball to the back post but Gary Cahill does enough to put Ismaila Sarr off from close range.

Jordan Ayew has had a quiet afternoon but the Palace forward springs to life.

He goes past Adam Masina with ease before firing over Ben Foster's bar from the angle.

Palace are still to register a shot on target.

Watford make their first change as Roberto Pereyra is replaced by Andre Gray.

Gerard Deulofeu plays the ball into the Palace area with the outside of his foot and it's just too far in front of Ismaila Sarr.

Vicente Guaita collects the ball and the chance disappears.

Wilfried Zaha skips into the Watford area but his run is matched stride for stride by Christian Kabasele.

The defender shields the ball out of play as the pair wrestle their way to the ground.

Finally, a moment of magic.

Watford nick the ball in their own half and feed Gerard Deulofeu on the halfway line.

He springs past James Tomkins and the Palace defender goes into the book as he takes the forward out on his way past.

That was promising for the Hornets, but Tomkins quickly shut it down.

I'm sorry folks, but this has been a hugely uninspiring game, devoid of any real quality.

Ismaila Sarr puts in another cross into the Palace box but it's so close to Vicente Guaita that he collects the ball with ease.

Just over 20 minutes to go, surely there has to be one big chance?

Wilfried Zaha plays the ball inside to James McArthur, who blazes his shot/cross into the stands.

But interestingly, as Zaha played the pass and followed the ball, his path was blocked off by Etienne Capoue as the pair have another coming together.

The referee did not see it but that one still has plenty of needle it seems.

Watford have an appeal for a free-kick turned down as Adam Masina nicks the ball past James Tomkins, before falling to the ground.

There is a coming together and Tomkins left leg catches the Watford player, but the referee is not having any of it.

Zaha concedes the free-kick and it's been a disappointing afternoon for the Ivorian so far.

There is just a lull in proceedings now as we tick towards the hour mark. Watford have been better but Palace have stood firm.

The Spaniard carries the ball well but fires just wide of the post.

It's much better by the hosts after the break. Perhaps Nigel Pearson had a word with them in the changing room?
