The combined Arsenal-Chelsea XI - as selected by BBC Sport readers

We asked you to select your combined starting XI from the squads of Arsenal and Chelsea, and the result saw eight Blues players picked and just three Gunners getting the nod.

A crumb of comfort for Arsenal fans is that striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the most picked player, appearing in 91% of teams.

He just edged out Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante for top spot.

The most competitive position in the team was between the goalkeepers, with Chelsea's Kepa narrowly beating Bernd Leno to the spot.

And the unluckiest man was Tammy Abraham, who was the fifth most selected player, but was predominantly picked in the same position as Aubameyang, so misses out.

You can still have a go at picking your team here.

Matchday team news on the way, but here's how the land lies at the moment...

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers has returned to the squad after serving a suspension on Boxing Day.

Gabriel Martinelli and Hector Bellerin will be assessed, while Rob Holding and Dani Ceballos are likely absentees.

Chelsea are expected to recall Mateo Kovacic after he was banned on Boxing Day, with Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic also poised to return.

Reece James and Marcos Alonso missed the defeat by Southampton, with the latter more likely to be fit to play.

Rebecca Philpot: Either watching Macclesfield at Wembley in the FA Trophy final in 2017 (even though we lost), or seeing us win promotion back to the Football League a year later. Holding on to those good memories at the moment!

Corin: Coutinho's goal against City to make it 3-2 in the 2013-2014 was one of my favourite goals as I seriously thought Liverpool might win the title

Jingle Bell: Favourite footballing moment from the last decade? Has to be Leicester winning the league and Ranieri's mate Andrea Bocelli banging out Nessun Dorma at the King Power Stadium. That was wild.

  18. Pellegrini out... Moyes in?published at 12:36 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

The big football news from Saturday evening was West Ham's sacking of manager Manuel Pellegrini... which quickly moved on to the re-recruitment of David Moyes.

BBC's Simon Stone has learnt that "Moyesey/Moyesy" is "95%" certain to get the gig again.

You might remember that the 55-year-old Scot led the Hammers to Premier League safety during six months at the club following the dismissal of Slaven Bilic in November 2017.

His contract wasn't renewed as the hierarchy wanted to take the club in a different direction.

Do fans still want the team to play the "West Ham way"? Or happy to retain their PL team by hook or by crook?
