As is often said, goals change games and the two here have probably settled it. Prior to the penalty, Chelsea weren't under pressure but they were struggling to build momentum.

Burnley are rocking now. Could easily be 3-0 to Chelsea as Reece James twists and turns in the box before firing a low shot that Pope pushes away.

From the corner following the free-kick, Ben Mee rises to head down and towards goal. It would have found the net too but for Ross Barkley, who hacks away. Chris Wood follows up but the sheer number of Blue shirts around him prevents him finding the bottom corner.

Even with a knackered nose, Chris Wood poses plenty of problems. He draws a foul from Christiansen, who is climbing all over his back, bringing a free-kick in a dangerous spot 20 or so yards out.

This won't alter Burnley's plan in the short-term. Prior to it they were competing well.

But long-term it means the Clarets have to do something in the opposition half.

They are very reliant now on the man with two big lumps of cotton wool shoved up each nostril - Chris Wood.

Willian is down on the turf following a sliding challenge from Matt Lowton.

Kevin Friend points to the spot and VAR backs him.

There is contact for sure but you could argue that Willian shifted his leg towards Lowton to ensure it.

Burnley having a few decent minutes here. The initial Chelsea storm they probably expected did not really come and the Clarets look solid. They are hunting in packs every time a home player gets the ball.

You have to trust those lines and they say that Mee was just off when the ball was played.

Oooooh, this is tight. They are checking for the initial header that sent the ball back across the box. Mee is close to being on. Really close.

Ben Mee heads the ball across goal and Jeff Hendrick nods in at the back post but it has been ruled out.

Something has made a real mess of Chris Wood's face. He is only just now back on the pitch after some emergency patching up to the bridge of his nose.

James Tarkowski illustrates just how important he is to this Burnley side with a superbly-timed tackle to prevent Tammy Abraham breaking into the box.

The attack all came from a neat turn and pass from Barkley, who looks in the mood.

Burnley are here to frustrate. They have two solid banks of four, challenging the home side to try and break them down. We've had flashes of home incision so far but nothing that the visitors haven't been able to deal with.

Chris Wood has taken a blow to the face and needs some treatment to stem the flow of blood. He'll be OK, but it's a bit messy.

Chelsea in the front foot now. Reece James is on the scamper down the right and is found by a team-mate, setting up a shot that the full-back slices wide.

James Tarkowski is down and holding his knee. He rises to his feet and is going to carry on, but Sean Dyche will be worried. Very worried. The big defender is a key man.
