Having lost to Bournemouth and Southampton, Chelsea are in danger of suffering a third consecutive home league defeat for the first time since 1993. Frank Lampard is well aware that home form has not been good enough.

Back then, Burnley were in the third tier of English football; something not lost on chairman Mike Garlick who has been busy reminding fans , externalthat just being in the top flight is something Burnley should still see as an achievement.

He's right, of course - but seeking merely to stand still in football rarely goes well.

What do you make of those starting XIs then?

Can Barkley bring that much needed extra spark to the Chelsea midfield? Is Christiansen the solution at the back? Will Hudson-Odoi finally show why people keep talking about him as such a big deal?

Burnley has less in reserve to go tinkering. But what will Hendrick and Lennon bring going forward? Will Barnes and Brady be missed?

We’re told by Chelsea that N’Golo Kante is absent today because of a hamstring injury.

With Mateo Kovacic on the bench, it’ll be really interesting to see the dynamic of Jorginho, Mount and Barkley in Lampard’s three-man midfield, if that’s how they line-up of course.

Burnley striker Ashley Barnes is here, just not in the squad. He was in his club tracksuit in the press room earlier, but rather impressively wasn’t tucking into any of the fantastic food on offer.

Chelsea make three changes from their last Premier League game - the 1-1 draw at Brighton. Most notable of these is the presence of Ross Barkley in midfield. He is in for N'Golo Kante, who is not in the 18. Christian Pulisic, who scored a hat-trick at Burnley earlier in the season, is injured and so Callum Hudson-Odoi starts, while Andreas Christensen replaces Kurt Zouma at the back.

Zouma is on the bench with Fikayo Tomori and Mateo Kovacic.

Chelsea: Arrizabalaga, James, Rudiger, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Barkley, Jorginho, Mount, Willian, Abraham, Hudson-Odoi.

Subs: Pedro, Caballero, Zouma, Kovacic, Batshuayi, Tomori, Emerson Palmieri.

Burnley also make three changes, having lost 2-1 at home to Aston Villa in their last game.

Ashley Barnes misses out with his ongoing groin problem, so Jeff Hendrick starts. Aaron Lennon comes in for Robbie Brady in midfield, while Phil Bardsley drops to the bench to be replaced by Matt Lowton at right-back.

Ali Koiki - full name Abd-Al-Ali Morakinyo Olaposi Koiki - is on the bench. He is a 20-year-old defender who is yet to make an appearance for the Clarets.

Burnley: Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Lennon, Westwood, Cork, McNeil, Hendrick, Wood.

Subs: Gibson, Hart, Pieters, Bardsley, Vydra, Long, Koiki.
