Christian Doidge is a happy man after banging in a hat-trick for Hibs this afternoon.

"My record since I've come up here hasn't been too good, so to get three is really good for confidence and good for the team obviously," he tells BBC Scotland.

"We've drawn a lot of games recently, so to get the away win at such a tough place, the boys are thrilled."

On his own form, he adds: "If you're a professional footballer and you're not really doing your job properly, you're going to get a bit of abuse. You just need to stay mentally strong and try and get into the positions that has got me here in the first place.

"Performances have been quite good, I just haven't found the back of the net. Maybe confidence-wise it was gone a little bit. But I got my three goals and I'm really happy."

Speaking to BBC Scotland post-match, St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright wasn't happy with his side's performance: "We emphasised the point of trying to be on the front foot then we gift them the first goal inside the first couple of minutes, and the 15-20 minutes after they give us the run around. We then gift them a third at the start of the second half, so it's disappointing. There was a lot of individual errors, but they did kept going to be fair. In the end, we got what we deserved.

The Northern Irishman added: "I'll be honest, it's going to be up and down this season. Whether we are sitting fourth, sixth or eleventh, we don't get ahead of ourselves. Nobody was getting ahead of themselves after back to back wins and it would've been the same if we won today. I thought Hibs were good particularly first half, but we can't give goals away like the first and third and expect to win games.

Hamilton manager Brian Rice tells BBC Sport Scotland: "I think for 44 minutes it's a great away performance. We're 2-0 up with two great goals, we're in control and not looking too bothered. For the next four minutes it all changes, and for the following 40 minutes the players gave me everything I know they've got. Heart, a desire not to get beat and a great attitude.

"I've had a word with the players at the start of the season and I said 'respect the referees, it's a hard job, don't make it any harder for them', so I'm not going to come out and make comments.

"We're getting used to it. We seem to be getting players sent off all the time, and it's not for malicious things, it's wee things. It's something we need to look at and address, but it doesn't take away from the spirit and the will power of the boys not to get beat."

"After 44 minutes it's two points lost, 48 minutes it's a point gained, that's how I see it."

"It was an incredibly bad day the office," says frustrated St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin.

"I've been full of praise for the players in terms of how we've been organised in weeks gone by but today we were a shadow of that.

"Hearts were the better team. They won every battle. It looked like a bigger game for them

"The players know that performance was unacceptable. We can all take losing a game when we've been competitive but I can't say that today."

Kilmarnock manager Angelo Alessio tells BBC Sport Scotland: "I'm angry because we could've done better. We conceded two easy goals and played 60 minutes with 11 against 10. A lot of mistakes were made.

"We should have stayed wider and tried to find the key pass or cross and make the opportunities to score.

"Well done to Hamilton because playing 10 against 11 is very difficult. I feel like we lost two points."

We've got more top flight action tomorrow, with the Old Firm back from their impressive Europa League exploits to resume their tussle at the top. Only goal difference separates the Glasgow rivals.

Celtic are at home to Motherwell, while Rangers go to Livingston.

Both of those matches kick off at 15:00.

Ross County co-manager Steven Ferguson tells BBC Scotland: "It's a difficult one because you lose the game and it looks like you lose the game quite comfortably, but I don't think at any stage Aberdeen were totally comfortable in the game. We made a real go of it today.

"We feel we're shooting ourselves in the foot at the moment. We feel that the two set-plays are certainly preventable from our point of view and again we contribute hugely to the third goal as well. We need to stop that, and we need to ensure we stop it quickly because it's becoming a little bit frustrating.

"I don't think we can question the players effort and endeavour. There was a lot of things that really pleased us."

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has now led his side to three wins in a row, and he tells BBC Scotland: "We've been pretty convincing in all three wins. The only disappointment today was not getting a third clean sheet in a row, but I think that was down more to a poor refereeing decision [for a penalty awarded against Lewis Ferguson]. We've had handballs not been given much more blatant than that. I'm not convinced it was in the box.

"Our trademark has always been long winning runs in every season we've had. To go three wins in a row hopefully we can continue that when we come out of the international break.

"I still feel with the strength of the squad now getting bigger with us getting players back we must search for those improvements throughout the season and I'm confident we can have more winning afternoons."

Hibs interim manager Eddie May already has a job in youth development, so he's not as keen to impress, but his side did him proud this afternoon.

"We've been close in a lot of games this season, the team should probably have been six points better off than we are," he tells BBC Sportsound.

"They played with a freedom and style - and more importantly, with real quality. It's not a case of them playing for me, they were playing with professional pride."

Christian Doidge netted a hat-trick after a pretty wretched start to his carer in Scotland.

"The other player up front definitely helped him today," says May of fellow striker Florian Kamberi's contribution.

Hearts interim manager Austin MacPhee is pleased with his day's work, telling BBC Sport Scotland: "I thought we were very positive, there was a lot of energy in the team and we attacked a lot. We were delighted to get five goals in the league for the first time since August 2016.

"We need to kick on from here and not be complacent. Across the board there were a lot of very good performances."

When asked if this boosts his chances of being made full-time manager, he says:"It's not for me to comment on. When I've been asked to step in as interim manager I've won four out of five of the games which is a good record for any club. An attacking performance is what the supporters want no matter who the manager is.

"Hopefully, this result with me taking the team for the time being gives everyone a chance to breathe."
