    Real Madrid 3-1 Real Sociedad

Credit to Gareth Bale, he's put his head down and he's been the most threatening player on the pitch since his 67th-minute introduction.

Will he be given the nod when Paris St-Germain visit on Tuesday night?

    He's certainly made his case.

    Real Madrid 3-1 Real Sociedad

Any more goals in this one?

Gareth Bale is still receiving some whistles as he charges down the wing, but he soon earns some applause as he flashes a low cross across the face of the Sociedad goal.

Nobody in a white shirt was willing to bet on Bale's ability to make that cross though, and the chance is wasted.

  8. CLOSE!published at 21:41 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Torino 0-3 Inter

Romelu Lukaku almost adds his second of the night after a swift counter, but the Belgian drags his shot narrowly wide of the far post.

Five minutes remaining in Turin. The Serie A title race looks well and truly on!

John McEnerney: Real lacking character, swagger, self belief & arrogance there is only a few players who’ll give a team all those things & one is available right now. Zlatan! Perez should get him in January until the end of the season.

Sulaimon Adelekan: With performances like this from Inter Milan, it's obvious they will push Juventus to the edge for the Scudetto this season.

    Real Madrid 3-1 Real Sociedad

    Back in the good books.

Sociedad are pressing for a route back into the contest, but Real are standing strong with just over 10 minutes remaining.

  11. goal

GOAL - Real Madrid 3-1 Real Sociedadpublished at 21:31 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Luka Modric (74 mins)

    Game over?

With the crowd whistling at him from the stands, Gareth Bale crosses from the right for Karim Benzema, who heads the ball down into the path of Luka Modric and, just like that, Real have breathing space.

  12. Postpublished at 21:31 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Torino 0-3 Inter

Not much to report from Turin since Romelu Lukaku's goal all but sealed the points for Inter.

Torino have certainly created a few more chances in the second half, but with no reward.

  13. Postpublished at 21:27 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Real Madrid 2-1 Real Sociedad

Complete confusion among the home support as to how they should react Gareth Bale almost scores straight away.

He makes a mess of his shot, though, and it turns out he was offside anyway.

This is going to be fun.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:25 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Real Madrid 2-1 Real Sociedad

Applause for Rodrygo as he leaves the field.

A rather different response for Gareth Bale as he runs onto the pitch.

The TV cameras show plenty of passionate home fans making their feelings heard.

Wonder what will happen if he scores...

    Real Madrid 2-1 Real Sociedad

    A chance for Martin Odegaard!

But the ball refuses to fall kindly for him and the Norwegian's tame effort is gathered comfortably by Thibaut Courtois.

  17. Postpublished at 21:17 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Real Madrid 2-1 Real Sociedad

Martin Odegaard is working hard in the centre of the pitch for Sociedad against his parent club, but it's Real Madrid who have assumed control as we approach the hour mark at the Bernabeu.

Real would require three unanswered goals to move above Barcelona in the standings, and there's absolutely no sign of Sociedad surrendering to that extent at present.

  18. goal

GOAL - Torino 0-3 Interpublished at 21:11 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Romelu Lukaku (55 mins)

Good finish from the former Manchester United striker!

With time and space as he enters the Torino penalty area, Romelu Lukaku picks his spot and places a low shot across goal and neatly into the bottom corner of Salvatore Sirigu's goal.

    Inter are cruising.

  19. Postpublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Real Madrid 2-1 Real Sociedad

Gareth Bale is warming up for Real Madrid.

There's a slight response from the home support, but it's hard to tell how negative it was as the referee awards a free-kick against the hosts at the same time.

  20. goal

GOAL - Real Madrid 2-1 Real Sociedadpublished at 21:05 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Federico Valverde (48 mins)

An early goal for Sociedad in the first half, and an now an early one for Real in the second!

Federico Valverde fires a shot from the edge of the penalty area and his effort takes a big deflection before flying beyond the reach of Alex Remiro.

The perfect start to the second period for the hosts.
