It is being reported that Manuel Pellegrini has two games to save his job at West Ham.

I have been told the situation is more fluid than that and the club like to honour contracts.

Evidently he is a man under pressure though.

It will be fascinating tomorrow to see if he sticks with under-fire keeper Roberto, who has conceded three goals in each of his last three games, or hands a debut to veteran keeper David Martin, son of club legend Alvin, who joined the Hammers as a training keeper from Millwall in the summer.

Roberto was booed by his own supporters during Saturday’s home defeat by Tottenham.

  4. 'Wenger is a hard act to follow'published at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2019

    Bob Wilson
Former Arsenal goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Managers like Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex are a hard act to follow.

The interesting thing is every successful side starts with the defence.

SIr Alex Ferguson was on the verge of getting the sack at Manchester Unitedand he bought Gary Pallister and Steve Bruce and completely rejigged the defence, building the Manchester United style of play.

Look at Liverpool and them spenidng millions on Virgil van Dijk and he has made the defence solid.

The stats on the Arsenal defence are frightening.

They are shipping goals and don’t seem to have any idea of the defensive structure.

Wenger created a defence there with Sol Campbell, it was based on an incredible defence then you let the likes of Dennis Bergkamp and Freddie Ljunberg go forward.

Former Manchester United and England defender Gary Neville has ripped into Arsenal's squad, claiming the standard of technical ability and recruitment in the squad is too low, undermining Unai Emery.

"Without a shadow of a doubt the players have let him down. The manager will take the hit, it's his responsibility to place them into an organised shape, but some of those players - I've been critical of my own club over the last few years for their recruitment policy and their strategy, but Arsenal's is truly pathetic.

"Let's be clear - these defenders are uncoachable, some of them."
