    Chelsea 0-0 Bournemouth

Chelsea have a free-kick out on the right wing after Chris Mepham brings down Willian. It's a good position from which Willian or Emerson can whip the ball in.

It's Emerson who does so, but his effort sails well over every Chelsea head in the box and out for a goal kick.

    Chelsea 0-0 Bournemouth

Ryan Fraser looks to have picked up a knock early on in this game. Bournemouth fans will be hoping he can run it off but he's certainly moving gingerly at the moment.

  3. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Bournemouth

A fine save from Aaron Ramsdale denies Mason Mount when it looks as though he's destined for a goal.

Jorginho lofts a lovely pass into the box towards Mount, who chests it down and then goes to send it past Ramsdale but the Bournemouth stopper gets his body behind the ball. A good chance for Chelsea to take the lead.

    Chelsea 0-0 Bournemouth

A bit more possession for Chelsea with Willian at the heart of the action.

But Bournemouth are able to counter, Lewis Cook again pinging a ball into the box and after a bit of coming and going, Chelsea are able to clear their lines.

The Cherries are looking right at home in London so far.

    Chelsea 0-0 Bournemouth

Early good play on the right wing from Lewis Cook as he puts the ball into the Chelsea box for the first time, floating in a cross that is headed away.

Ryan Fraser then goes for a shot himself, but it's easily smothered by Kepa. A bright start from Bournemouth.

Bournemouth’s injury problems are most definitely at a crisis point.

They have 26 senior players in their squad but nine of those are missing, with some of them being long-term absentees.

It’s extraordinary, and not what you need when you’re on your worst run of defeats in nearly seven years.

    Chelsea v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe on his side's current winless form:

"In these moments I try to be at my best, when things are most challenging. I'd like to think I've handled these situations before and I can do it again.

"Frank [Lampard] and his team have done so well, it's a different Chelsea this season but still a very effective team. But we feel, if we're at our best, we can beat anyone."

  10. 'Chelsea keen to get back on track' - MOTD commentator's notespublished at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2019

    Simon Brotherton
    BBC commentator

It has turned out to be a decent week for Chelsea, with qualification secured for the knockout stage of the Champions League, but they'll be keen to get back on track domestically after last week's disappointment at Goodison Park.

This fixture has been a mixed bag for them in recent seasons, with Bournemouth winning on two of their four Premier League visits.

The timing doesn't look great for Eddie Howe this time though as his team head for Stamford Bridge beset by injuries and in a horrible run of form. A run of five straight defeats and only one win in 10 leaves them just a point above the relegation zone.

It looks like the perfect winter's day at Stamford Bridge. Crisp but dry - lovely conditions for football.

It's a shame the same can't be said for where I am in Manchester, where it is bitterly, bitterly cold and has been raining since what feels like the beginning of time...

    Chelsea v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

Neither Chelsea nor Bournemouth's recent results make for fun reading.

Frank Lampard's Blues have lost three of their last four league matches, while the Cherries are on a run of five straight defeats.

Who will come out on top at Stamford Bridge? Only 10 minutes remain until kick-off so that's plenty of time to get yourself a brew/beer/[insert beverage of choice].
